I use a SurgeX. I would never bother getting a low end Furman, since they are no better than a simple power bar with a circuit breaker.

1- The Kemper does not send any signal via USB, so yes, you will need an interface. Many (including me) have had success with Focusrite interfaces.
2- You can use a cabinet. Just turn off the cabinet in the profile, or use Direct profiles, which do not profile the cabinet at all.
3- That's up to you. If you want to pump 600 watts into a 40 watt cabinet, the results wont be good (to say the least).

I'm interested in how others create their profiles. I notice there are all types of profiles in RE, and some are really harsh sounding, while others are really quite good. I figured it would be interesting to hear how each of us creates their profiles.
All of my profiling is done in my basement, without any acoustic treatments.
In lieu of that, I use a couple of moving blankets over the amp and mic(s) to eliminate any sounds bouncing around.
I mic the amp, get it in the position and sound I want, through the headphones, and off I go.
I very rarely do any refinements. If it's close, I'll do it. If it's not close, I re-position the mic and the blankets, and the second try is usually dead on.
Anyone else?

Did the forum get an incredibly large font setting lately?

Opening Rig Manager also works.

If it crashed, just start clean.

WHY ARE PHOTOS NOT SHOWING?????

This is one perfect, reasonable request. However in my opinion it won't happen, because it would require modification of Rig Manager towards business of commercial sellers.
However, the idea is brilliant.
Maybe a reasonable request, but an impractical one, since profiles are not copy protected.

Hopefully the improved USB link fixes the issue I've had on 2 PCs, where I remove a few profiles from the Kemper, and the next time I hook it up to RM, it says something is hosed and to hold down the RIG key during boot up.

From a developer perspective, it gets really annoying when people constantly complain about things that are minimal, while the real bugs are being ironed out in a production deployment. I don't know how many people complained about the new forum, but I know the number isn't a very small number.

It'll take some time to get use to. At least it's working.

Same here. No issues.......other than the neighbors hating when I put it on my deck and crank all 2000 watts

Ritchie Blackmore. Hearing him play made me grab my baseball bat, pretending that I was in Deep Purple.

As per his site ( http://www.iommi.com/equipment…ny-iommi-live-guitar-rig/ ) he used a Laney GH 100 TI
There are a couple in Rig Exchange with pretty high ratings (although I haven't tried them).

Actually, I prefer that the profile has the effects OFF, where you hear the actual amp, then maybe introduce the recommended effect (if any). To me, the profiles with a ton of effects are nothing more than patches on a modeler.

All my guitars are in standard tuning. Any drop tuning can be quickly done with my fixed bridge guitars, but most are super strats with Floyds.
I haven't tuned any of my guitars in anything but standard since I bought a Digitech Drop. It's always in my signal chain, right behind my Peterson Tuner.

The chip swap is a breeze. I decided on the EurekaProm because I used it for another rig, like you, then moved to Kemper. An upgraded chip and I have all the functionality of the Kemper, including looper......as well as backward compatibility to all the other rigs.

USB Works fine. If they're both your Kempers, just do a full backup and then restore it on the other.
