    Guys

    This is just my view.

From Fireloogie's comment maybe it's not extreme but more a sign that the Kemper user base is increasing and with this increase in user volume it has brought with it new feature requirements due to how these new users utilise the Kemper. I also think for the poor souls that have waited year and years for additional feature to have a year pass with nothing is annoying (I don't fall into that category but I empathise).

When you boil down the requests about 90% of them are for an editor and better reverb. It seems counter productive to ignore these requests and let the user base become frustrated. A lot of people, like myself, purchased the Kemper to reduce kit, if you have to add a load of additional pedals to make up for its shortcomings then suddenly the cost skyrockets and you are carrying more rack cases.

From what I see on the forum the general consensus is the Kemper has sub par distortions/boosts, sub par reverb, the rack is rather large compared to the competitors, it has no editor. It would only take 1 company to patent a slightly different profiling method, put it in a 2u rack, create an editor and add better distortions and reverb and suddenly Kemper would have a problem. From what I can see on the forum updates are free which is great but I would rather pay for them knowing the Kemper team can grow and that requests going back several years are being developed. So are Kemper standing still? Have I purchased a product that is no longer really being developed or being developed at such a slow rate that it will be overtaken by the time all the features required are available? These are my genuine considerations owning a Kemper.

This does not mean the Kemper is bad for everyone. I like the reverb because I use them so little it's mostly irrelevant, I don't use distortion or boost pedals I just use the amp gain and I don't mind the rack being large as it has more button for functionality. I also find the unit extremely intuitive so I don't need an editor for general use, I do for recording though as like most on the forum I don't have a huge desk with integrated racks in an expensive studio, like a lot of people on here I work out of a converted garage/bedroom/small corner in the house.

I think sometimes on the forum there is a lack of understanding for other people's opinions and requirements and almost an elitist attitude.

    Take care all

    Hey

I purchased a shallow gator case, the Kemper is really shallow so don't get a full size unless you need it.

Look on the forum for a post called something like "post pictures of your Kemper" as there's about 78 pages of Kemper porn in there mostly with racks.

    Hope that helps

Amazing, when did I say the Kemper tones had changed or become worse? Jesus Christ talk about putting words in my mouth. I also never said I'd sell the Kemper for a Helix, what I was saying was if the amp models on the Helix do what I need why not move to an option that serves my needs but this does not mean the Kemper has somehow become bad since this convention started.

    Let me clarify.

The Di Out being an Effects Send is annoying. I bought the FreqOut, went to mount it in my rack and found I had to unplug the Di Out to connect it, you know the Di that allows you to reamp.... So now I have the pedal on the floor instead of in the rack case when recording as it now has to be before the Kemper; ideally I wanted to control it from the floorboard as a stomp. This is a limitation I found 3 days ago and yes I find that frustrating..... I don't really care if no one else does.

Please don't put words in my mouth and don't belittle my opinion. If they decided to never release any reverb or fix the distortions I wouldn't care less as I don't use them but other people would find the effects quality a limitation and look for a solution....no different than people who own a Kemper and also own external effects.

The Kemper is the best on the market in regards to amps hands down. I can not imagine anything surpassing it and I can not imagine not having it that does not mean it is in any way completely perfect.

I'm sick of talking about this stuff and breaking my back. If there's no clear announcement about a planned editor I'm going to bite the bullet and get a Fractal or Line 6 to provide and manage my effects.

I have been watching this thread and found people mainly want the same thing (editor and reverb). I do have only two regrets buying the Kemper, one was buying the remote. A lot of money on an item that could have been spent on a second hand Helix floorboard for effects plus there would have been a top editor to use with the Kemper in the loop. The second is having an integrated DI/Effects Send. I purchase one pedal to put in the loop and suddenly I'm switching cables as I can't reamp and use the loop at the same time.

I love the Kemper and bought it knowing that an editor was not available but I am sick of banging my guitar on the desk whilst trying to edit the Kemper or having to put it down to start editing.

An editor would complete the package for me, and then make the floor board a wise purchase as a single cable to do everything is perfect. No long power cable running, midi cables, 4cm method...... An editor won't make it easier to use as its extremely easy anyway but it will make it more convenient.

The second gripe can't be fixed without a new hardware release (unless a firmware release can change the output setting to another channel)

I think without an editor announced I may try the Helix with the Kemper in the loop and reamp via the Helix as this would solve all my problems. If the Helix sounds good enough for me I may either sell the Kemper and use the Helix or pick up a small 30watt tube amp.

I love the Kemper but I am finding it's limitations a little frustrating at times.

    Come on editor :):(:P^^:D;(X(:*:|

Get all my emotions out at once lol

    Hey man

Totally agree that it's not an endless sustain. A compressor before would be great but as I'm reamping I can't put the pedal in a slot and assign it after the compressor.

I have just had another play and I do love the pedal, my lead sounds so cool and using it with the organ style patches on a clean channel give you some fantastic Pink Floyd style atmospheric sounds, I've just spend half an hour on that lol.

I will keep the pedal as it sounds great just a shame about the sustain, actually not the sustain but the abrupt cut off, but it does sound great.

    Cheers dude

    Mike

Even better if Kemper released a separate software/hardware platform for importing WAV files and then profiling them internally.

You could then import your friends WAV file, control the microphone type, add in a little room, if you only record the amp without the cab into the WAV file you could add IRs later, save the setting and hit the profile button.

Again sorry if it sounds dumb.

    Mike

    Hi all

Well I plugged the FreqOut in and had a little play.

    The good:

Sounds really good and I played over a song I am writing and it made my solos sound that little bit more edgy and does sound like you are recording from a loud amp.

The bad or at least what I have yet to understand:

When playing there are little artifacts when it is tracking. This is a little frustrating as most of my lead is written and recorded on the spot and to record an artifact will mean more retakes.

The other reason I wanted the pedal was I sing so I was hoping for long potentially endless sustain to play whilst I sing on certain tracks. The FreqOut cuts the signal off but not in a nice way, it's like a noise gate is cutting the sound off rather than a nice trail. Now this may be the Kemper noise gate so I may need to experiment more but are you also finding this issue. Even with loads of vibrato it still cuts out so I am wondering if it's the Kemper, the FreqOut or my technique.

All in all if the gating issue can go this is one lovely sounding pedal but if the gate can't be solved it will be going back.

I pray I am missing something.

    Cheers all
