reading this i´m wondering: did you try a different pedal, and a different TRS cable?

which chorus did you use?

i don´t think reverb make things more "mushy" if you use a good one and know how to set it up.
e.g. check out the insane amount of reverb on Van Halen records, a LOT on rhythm guitars (as on everything else).

I've got a set of their Gristle Tones in my Tele. Best upgrade I've ever made.
+1, i did the same, and they don´t only give you 2 amazing sounds, but also they are quiet as humbuckers on stages, where you can´t use single coils.

did you check your output settings?

This will enable you to bridge distances of more than 100m (300ft). The PoE injector can be located close to the PROFILER e.g. in the same rack and connected via a short ethernet cable.
manual: p. 298

have you tried a different usb drive?

Oi
1) i don´t know
2) you find the specs to the cable in the main manual p.298 etc
The PROFILER and PROFILER Remote communicate with each other via an ethernet cable. The cable included in the PROFILER Remote package with its Neutrik® etherCON® cable connector carrier has been carefully selected and is perfectly suited for this purpose. If you decide to use any 3rd party cable, please make sure it meets our quality standards.
The diameter of the wire is the critical factor. The cable delivered with the Remote meets American Wire Gauge 24 (AWG), which can support up to 7.5m (22ft) length. AWG 26 cables have a smaller diameter and can only support up to 5m (15ft). Cables with higher AWG e.g. AWG 28 should not be used with the Remote.
Cables in excess of 10m (30ft) might require a Power over Ethernet Injector (PoE Injector).
3) yes you can profile the amp with your preamp

have a look into your output settings

maybe morph feedback and delay time to zero?

imho, if you are new to the unit, try to edit with the kemper without rig manager. i think it is very well layed out, very intuitive and it´s almost impossible to mess something up.
only then i would start using rig manager. it´s very powerful, but also more complex and it´s easy to make a mistake if you´re not very careful and know exactly what you´re doing and 100% familiar with the kemper terminology and their way of doing things.
-
but, the way it is, if you make a lot of different profiles from the same amp with different settings, you don´t have to enter all the information with every new profile.

(Hey Kemper, can we get an upgrade program for older profilers to add Wi-Fi?!)
you mean something like this? main manual p.310...

most of the time it´s not blinking in sync, so i dimmed it away in settings. really would love to see it in sync one day...

OUTPUT LED (4)
The PROFILER performs soft clipping and is very forgiving in terms of amplitude clipping, so here is no need to panic if the OUTPUT LED flashes red occasionally. Typically, you might experience this with clean sounds. In such cases you could either decrease Rig Volume or another Volume in the Rig e.g. Amplifier Volume...
