Has there been any indication when the kones are coming back into stock?
I've emailed sales, they're expecting more stock in Germany early August

Want to get 2 more Kones, I knew the Kabs were out of stock but are there no Kones now either? Has anyone been given an eta?
Awesome work, I'd love to see everyone's reaction at your next pub gig!
Fantastic news you got it back, big thanks to Kemper for helping you. I fear some other poor Kemper fan has just lost their dough and their dream Kemper which I imagine they've bought in good faith. Hopefully he used Paypal or similar.
Display Morehello,
One rainbow of my beauties!
1990 UV7 MC, a lot of marks of life, but that's what makes it authentic !
A teenager dream!!
That's awesome
You wouldn't believe the amount of trouble I'm going to to make one of these left handed. I have the donor guitar (RG7420L), fretboard inlays, marbling paint and a router. Good fun taking a router to one of only 200 left hand floyd equipped 7 strings that Ibanez ever made. Mine will be getting a monkey grip as well for added/reduced authenticity.
My inner teenager wants his dream guitar, even if it doesn't exist and takes 30 years. Why do I keep listening to him?
One thing I noticed in the vid is that a 10' string tuned to E Flat is the equivalent to a 9 tuned in E , is it right ? sounds logical as the tension is reduced.
No, incorrect.
On an acoustic I would say play as heavy as you can stand, (for me that's 11-52's), electric play whatever feels best.
Half a step is never worth a string change imho, I personally think your playing style and string bending/vibrato technique should dictate your string gauge choice.
Look up a string tension calculator on google if you're curious to see how different tunings and scale lengths will affect string tension compared to changing string gauges. Changing gauges usually always has a more drastic affect on string tension (and therefore feel)
Always wanted to play that song live, might require a bit more practice and rehearsing than Jessie's Girl though. Very well done!
Performance mode, browse mode doesn't serve much purpose
All individual volumes are available in the output menu, any of these can be linked to the master volume knob. I've never once turned off my power amp
Total newb here, thinking about amplification possibilities for my Stage... could I replace the speakers in an old Roland Jazz-Chorus 120 with Kones and run it through the effects return?
I'm wondering if it would be ok as far as matching up ohms, I think the JC-120 is 2 60-watt amps powering 2 8ohm speakers normally, and the Kone is 4ohms, will this be OK?
Is there a reason to think this is a horrible idea sonically if electrically it's safe? Is swapping out the speakers in a solid state amp something folks are doing?
You're going to ruin a perfectly good amp.
Correction: 2 perfectly good amps ?
Good work, look forward to giving it a try. I was hoping Pete might release a profile of this amp, but I don't think Dave would appreciate it (not a Kemper fan) nor Steve being he's tied in with a couple of other companies.
But surely Pete made a profile for himself, how could you not?
Now that is what I wanted to hear. A promise of a problem-free blue-skies future. I'll give it a try. Thanks
You will never have a problem again. (That's an official guarantee from some random on the internet)
I've locked the input settings for that reason. Occasionally the odd profile would have a really hot input setup for low output pickups that would cause clipping with high output pickups.
Haven't had an issue since
Fizzy probably was a bad way to describe it. It was sounding very trebly. Also I made sure the cab selections were correct, I was able to hear the difference when the cab was off. The imprints did change the sound when I was switching them.
It sounds a lot better now though with some tweaking and help from dmatthews. ?
Good to hear, sounds like your warming to them, enjoy!
It shouldn't sound fizzy at all. Sounds like you've got the cab turned off. Is the sound changing when you select different imprints?
Like an amp, every guitar is going to sound different through an amp, thus different through the Kemper.
With that said, I have found that Top Jimi is hit or miss. The Van Halen set is amazing, and sounds like the videos. On the other hand, the Black Sabbath set sounds NOTHING like the videos. I've tried them with 12 different guitars, with different pickup configurations, and couldn't get close to the videos.
I guess that's with all profiles. I'm sure people hate some of mine. I dialed in the amp to my guitar and profiled it.
I believe Jimi double tracked the guitars in the Sabbath video iirc (to emulate double tracking on the albums)
Plug it straight in, you'll be fine. Guarantee you will damage your eardrums well before you damage the speakers. Having said that, I'd suggest keep poweramp boost at zero.
For curiosity sake, there is a wattage power meter in the output menu, have a look at that while you're playing and you'll realise how little power it takes to play loud.
Enjoy!
Also how does it sound in a normal cab? I guess my question is does it give the amp in the room feel?
Go ahead and put them in the Mesa cab. The bigger the cab, the bigger the sound. I've thrown 2 in a 4x12, it sounds better than I thought it would
