Newish Kemper Stage user here. I mostly play live and my best results have been using a preamp only pack into the effects return of my amp and using guitar cabs. I really like this set-up and it makes a lot of sense for me using the stage as a preamp and effects unit, just think it works best in a band scenario this way. So, I bought this Mesa Quad preamp pack and it's awesome but I looked around for other preamp only packs on the web and there isn't anything out there for purchase. The preamp packs Ive found have a power section baked in. Does anyone offer preamp only direct packs?
