Kemper monitor out to Atomic CLR for me onstage, main out to FOH. I have a little rotary expression pedal that I connect to the remote which allows for easy control over the CLR's output.

Thanks. I am beginning to think I need to brush up on the concepts of the Kemper. I’ve heard people refer to different wah pedals in the KPA but I only see one “wah wah” but then as you mention, I’m looking at an effect type and not a “preset.” Tomorrow I’ll use browse and hopefully that will be the missing link for me. I certainly am not efficient enough to create parameters for a wah.

The stomp wah when added does not make a wah sound unless the parameters are adjusted properly. This has been the case for several years. (Unless they have changed something in recent releases). If you want a wah sound and are not proficient with making the adjustments yourself, load a wah preset (use browse knob instead of type knob). Look for a post from Monkey_Man in this forum regarding many popular wah pedal presets.

UPDATE: I added the Wah to Stomp B, and magically, everything works just like I think it should.
Both Stomp A and Stomp B say "WWAH" on my remote.
I wish I knew why this happened, I don't like stumbling on a solution that makes no real sense.

I've searched and read and tried everything, but I cannot get a wah to work on my Kemper for the life of me. If would be helpful if there were a step by step vid or manual to configure the pedal (into the remote) but nothing I've found simply goes from adding wah to the stomp to the configuring of the pedal with the remote so it works. Or, so it works for me.
So I purchased a new Mission KP1. A new TRS cable. I've connected the pedal to my remote, input #5, which I think is the default wah input. I go to a rig, I add "wah wah" as stomp A. Nothing happens when I use the pedal. I go to the system menu, go to Pedal 5, its function is wah. When I move the pedal, the "bar" above it goes from nothing to full, so it seems like the pedal is doing something (I also calibrated) but there is no wah sound whatsoever. Pedal type 1 or 2 makes no difference. I don't know what else there is to do here. Obviously I am doing something wrong.
Advise would be super-duper appreciated...

Indeed; that's ridiculous, man.
You could have around 350 Cabs and 600 Presets covering Stomps, Reverb, Pitch, EQ and whatever and these will require 16mb to back up. The full .kpabackup file for the figures I just gave, the one you end up with on your stick if you use the Backup / Restore function, weighs in at 7.9mb.
100mb will allow you to store around a dozen of these full-backup files, plus all your cabs and presets separately (they'll all be in the full-backup files anyway) and the latest OS (kaos.bin) in case you need to reinstall it for whatever reason.
So, given that 100mb is likely enough, the wise thing to do IMHO would be to get the smallest stick you can. 1G would be perfect IMHO, if you can find one. Generally these days I'm finding most vendors start at either 8 or 16GB; either is fine. 256GB is "cutting-edge" and therefore extremely-expensive (will drop to $30 next year, but currently hundreds). Always pays IMHO to upgrade stick size a year or more after a new size hits the market.
Hope all this helps, man; I really tried to put some perspective on the 256G choice.
Indeed, I see the error of my ways. For once, buying "the biggest and the baddest" failed spectacularly. At the end of the day, I snagged an old, small USB stick from the "junk drawer" of the house...I believe it was my daughter's, and featured "hello kitty" on it. Well that one did the job with no issues.

Ah cool. I’ll try a smaller sized stick, the one I’m using is 256 GB so maybe that’s the issue. I see profiles are very, very small file.

Hello, new user here...just getting used to my new Kemper Rack and Remote. I've got some profiles I'd like to get onto the unit, but it won't format the new USB stick I am trying to use.
When I insert the stick, the screen tells me it needs to be formatted and that it will erase all data. OK. Are you Sure? Both the Yes and No light appear to be lit, however when press Yes, or press and hold for a few seconds (any type of "press") nothing happens. Unless this is supposed to take over 10 minutes, something is not working right.
I've formatted it on my PC, scanned for errors (none found) and it seems to work fine there but on the Kemper unit, nothing.
First time I tried I eventually just remove it, and I received "Operation Failed" and now, nothing happens when I take it out, the unit is stuck/locked. Awesome.
