Fix the Amp tags taking over the Cab tags when profiling.

At the moment. I am getting along fine with everything but the above would be quite nice.

The Cab tags thing is the only pain when doing multiple profiles of the same amp and cab and having to keep entering the cab details.

The reason must be, that the initial Slot Name deviates from the name of the initial Rig. So the logical assumption is, that you have entered a given Slot Name, don't want to see the Rig Name as Slot Name. Therefor the system keeps the given Slot Name while you select another Rig.

Press Edit, Slot Settings, Rename Slot, Use Rig Name to reaalign Slot Name with Rig Name. As long as both names are identical, Slot Name will automatically follow Rig Name if you load another Rig as the logic assums, you want to see Rig Name as Slot Name.

Yes, that is correct. I only want to se rig names In the slots. I have been adding these profiles into empty performances. I have never touched the slot name.

Cheers for the quick reply. I must be doing something wrong then as this does not seem to be happening or updating when I put a new profile into a slot.

I am not renaming anything, just changing the profiles in the slots. Will keep trying.
    Thanks.

I am still struggling with rig names in Performance mode. How can I get the actual rig name that is loaded to display and not whatever rig was first put into the slot.
So, if I am setting up a Performance for the studio with the sounds of a Boogie I have profiled, when I am bringing different profiles of my Boogie in and out of the slots, only the name of the first one that is brought into the slot sticks. When I change to a different Boogie profile, the name in the slot is not the current one loaded into the slot. Using the knob to browse amps only shots the last amp in the list and not the amp that is loaded.
This makes it s almost impossible to quickly know what profile I actually have loaded into the slot. These profiles are all subtly different.

Why does the unit insist on keeping the name of the first rig imported into the slot? How do I get it to display the actual current rig. I am sure I must be doing something wrong or missing a display setting somewhere.

You don’t ever plug speaker outputs into audio inputs. You only plug speaker outputs into speakers and even then, only speakers that can handle what the amp will output.

You should have used the main or monitor outs and NOT the speaker out.

The red output is not the main out, it is the speaker out.

Great production I must agree and great playing, professional all the way! Not a huge Toto-like fan, a bit too pop for me, but I appreciate great talent. You sure have it Vinnie, and Luke of course has gobs of major talent! (Met him at a Toto concert like 2 years ago of all places). LOL

    Thank you so much. ?

I have been a Dare fan right from the start and 'Out of the silence' is still one of the best AOR albums ever made. I write and play AOR myself too.
We've just recorded our third album and we're mixing right now. Here is some music from the previous albums on Spotify.

Love the stuff you posted. Sounds great.
All the very best for your new album.

That can't be true? Really? O...M...G!!

    Dude, you have lived!

??? Yes, Brian was with us from 86 until 91 when we both left the band. I did some good things in between and rejoined in 2008. During that time, Bri did quite well for himself. ???

Second to last shot features Scott Gotham who popped down to see us at the photo shoot.

I used to have my guitars set up by an ex Eggle builder and I had a custom guitar made by Rob Williams who is ex Eggle...top guitars!!

Yes, they really were great guitars. Made by very talented people.
Rob refretted my #1 ‘78 Les Paul a few years back.

I stupidly sold both of my Berlin Pro’s in the 90s. Really miss that red one.

i’m not stalking you Vinny Burns but !ark showed me this one one of his build your own guitar courses

Wow, that’s a blast from the past. When I turned up for that shoot, they had some large Fender combo that was soooooooo clean and there were no pedals to goose the front end with. I could have died. ???

Loved using the Eggle guitars though. They were just so easy to play and sounded brilliant. They were ideal for my time with Asia and then later on with Ultravox.

Couple of interesting things about the video I posted. The girl in the video is Mädchen Amick who went on to star as Shelly Johnson in Twin Peaks
Secondly, our keyboard player in the background is Professor Brian Cox who is now quiet a well know Physicist and television personality.

Our singer and studio keyboard player is Darren Wharton from Thin Lizzy.

    Yeah, great stuff, Vinny! 8)

Big Toto influence there, no? If I had to guess, I'd say the album "Isolation" from 1984 sounded closest, but that's probably 'cause it fell square into the mid-'80s pop-rock era of chorussed guitar and big snares. Hmm... :/

Yes, Isolation was a massive influence on me. It’s one of the reasons I went and bought a Mesa Mk series head once we had signed to A&M.
Back then, we were also really into Foreigner, Mr Mister, Journey etc. Working with Mike Shipley and Larry Klein on that album certainly helped to get those sounds. In the UK, I did practically all the distorted rhythms and main solos on my Mk3.

When we went to LA to finish the album, we did all the clean guitars and all the guitar ad libs through the songs.

We were renting loads of stuff from Andy Brauer. This was the first time I got to use Bradshaw systems. We rented a few off him as well as Mesa Mk3, Mk2C+ and Caliber 50 amps. One of the amps was Luke’s MK2C+ head. His name was stencilled on the front of the flight case. I asked him about it years later and he said he had no idea Brauer was renting his amp out. ?

Great times. In LA, we were recording in Joni Mitchell’s house in Bel Air as she was then married to Larry Klein one of our producers. I was only 22 (had my 23’s birthday out there). Very happy part of my life. Young and single spending a couple of months in 80’s Cali

    .

This is my bands first single Abandon from our first album Out Of The Silence we did in 1988. Long time ago. ?

Recorded a lot of albums since (with this band and others) but I am still happy with what we did back then especially as it was my first major label recording.

I think the powered out is just for basic monitoring onstage while front of house gets the stereo signal in all its glory.
For the last few gigs before lockdown, I was using the Stage live. Even for me, my monitor in front of me with my guitar in it is just mono (always has been. Even in my Bradshaw rig days) even though front of house is always getting stereo.

I can see why they did it the way it currently is but it also would have been nice to have stereo powered outs too.

    It’s a great unit.

You are only sending one mono signal out to the first cab. The Powerhead speaker out is only mono.

You would need a stereo power amp into the 4x12’s and use the regular stereo main or monitor outs to get any stereo effects happening.
