Thank you Thumas!

I'm not much of a hi gain or metal guy, would be more interested in vintage tones and thick creamy cleans which sound great with verb....
Thanks for any advice!Congrats on entering the Kemper world. There are some good tips listed in this thread . Take your time, try a few rigs, and understand slight knob adjustments with the EQ (especially clarity and definition ) can dial the tone into your liking. Take at look at the pure cabinet setting as well.
Since you like vintage style tones I have had good success with these from Lucky Lady Vintage Guitars.

Last night I was playing a Heritage hollow body through the dirty bassman profile and thought the tone was fantastic. Good luck on your tone - Kemper journey.
By the way what are you using for speakers? I settled in after some experimenting with a Kabinet and have been very happy.

Same....I just like playing and tweaking so hard to resist. Lame when the profiles don't work out for whatever reason.
-
I thought the Archon profiles were pretty good. The packs I purchased....well...someone needs to take my $ accounts away.
-
Well I did it...purchased the Benson and JP2C pack. I am a sucker with any profile that has Wizard in the name. Tested one of Benson's with a Strat and it sounded pretty good with minimal tweaking. Will take the full test plunge in a bit.

York IR's are legit!!! Did anyone try to free Archon pack that STL released? It think they are good. Wondering if the engineer packs mentioned in this thread are as as good. The JP2C pack looks good as well.
Waiting but debating a purchase. Back to the Archon if the modeled amp sounds that good in the room with it PRS has a winner. I like the cleans and drive can be dialed in to taste. Nice...

Welcome, congrats, etc, etc. Have 30GB of Godzilla movies on the storage device myself. Good luck with the Kemper. Take your time and enjoy the ride. Minimal tweaks on dials can produce nice results.

I tried both speakers. Stuck with the Kone due to final budget constraints but the F12-200X is a good speaker choice as well.

Don't mean to be a wet blanket but the majority of people I have talked to (including top studio guys & producers) all say IR's do not seem to be as good as using the Kemper for speaker cabs. I've heard some amazing tone from the Kempers without using IRs to the point of I could probably work with cab controls to get anything I needed. Those cab controls will do a LOT and open up a big rabbit hole!
I hear you there. Interesting that this thread had me load up a Tone Junkie Orange profile. Tried some different IR's and actually thought the V30 imprint through a Kabinet sounded best. Seems every profile is different and having some IR's just give me another option to try.
The digital bunny hole is deep!!!

Check out your Celestions and see what you think. What kind of flavor are you looking? British, American, Mesa-ish, etc.?
-
44.1, 200 ms....
Check out York Audio if you are in the hunt for some tasty IR's (if the Celestions do not satisfy). I feel they are really good.

Nice! Great discount...

I like directivity at 10 as well. Sweetening is not an option as I use the my desired imprint with pure cabinet on (intensity at 3.0). Been setting clarity on the amp EQ at 2.3. as well.
-
Wow this must have taken a lot of work. Thank you!

Enjoying my Soundside profiles this evening. Thinking about trying the new Bassman. Cheers...

Kemper Kabinet....it works so well in a home situation. You may get the same results from a Kone in a closed 1x12 but can't vouch for that. Was using 2 Kones in an open back 2 x 12 Avatar cab but prefer the Kabinet better (at least in my playing room). Good luck on your tone quest.

FRFR as an imprint choice seems nice. First night using a Kemper Kab that way. Have a few profiles that really came to life with some slight tweaking. Good stuff Kemper!

Chris, Thanks for the feedback
Could not agree more. This great hardware - software keeps getting better and better. Thank you!
