XLR vs line?

    hi guys, so random nooB question:


    is there going to be a difference if i:


    connect xlr output of kemper to xlr input of Apogeeduet, out put of duet (line out TRS 1/4") to TRS 1/4" in my RCF NX12 PA


    vs


    connect TRS 1/4" output of kemper to TRS 1/4" input of duet, 1/4" TRS output to 1/4" TRS in my RCF


    vs XLR out of kemper to XLR in of duet, output of duet 1/4" TRS to XLR input in my RCF

    TSR 1/4" is a balanced connection, so as long as you're sure your apogee does support a balanced signal through its 1/4" sockets there will be no difference, except the phisical connection: XLR can be firmer then 1/4" some times :)

    The Profiler's outputs are TS, not TRS, so using XLR will deliver a noise-free balanced signal over longer stretches of cable than the TS output.
    Always use the XLR if possible.
