one powered cab output but 2 cabs - can I connect it?

  • Hello,

On the powered Kemper there is only one output - 600W @ 8 Ohms or 300W @ 16 Ohms. I would like to get two DV Mark Neoclassic 112 cabs - each 8 Ohms and 150W so I could get 300W at 16 Ohm. But how do I connect them to powered Kemper? Do I need a splitter or something?

    Thank you

  • The two cabs have to be connected in series in order for the power amp to see an overall higher impedance. A simple splitter would connect them in parallel (4 ohm).
You'll need some homework, unless there are connection options on the back of the cabs which allow for this already (I found no useful pics nor specs on their site).

An option would be to ask Marco De Virgiliis (D V Marko LOL) to add a further socket to one of them for a serial connection. Another option would be to buy the 2x12 and ask for a serial internal connection.

Last option: to have someone build a "serial connector" for you, a simple box gifted with an input and two serially-connected outputs.
