Start-up error and USB Connection error on 2.5.0 firmware

  • Hi guys,

I've updated to 2.5.0 about 10 days ago, but last tuesday my kemper showed a startup error:
"Booting & burning from USB device
    RETRY: retrying mount of device
    RETRY: retrying mount of device
ERROR: unable to mount USB device"

Funny thing is, I did not try to connect anything. This afternoon I thought I'd put in my dedicated USB, one time with the 2.5.0 package and one time with another firmware package, but it showed me:
"booting & burning from USB device
ERROR: unable to locate firmware file on USB device"

Any help here guys? What should I do?

  • Ok, I fixed it by formatting another USB stick and just putting the kaos.bin file on there. Has anyone got an idea how this could happen? 2.5.0 was already on there for a week, in which I used it for 2 gigs. Now I got the error during start up for rehearsal, but I'd hate to see this before a gig.

  • It sounds like the Profiler has kept fragments of the updating routine. I'm pretty sure one of the various reset modes would be of help by resetting the boot routine, but can't suggest one specifically. You might want to open a support ticket, it's likely to be a transitory issue
    :)
