I want to get rid of all my third party profiles before I upgrade to the 1.52 firmware. I will of course backup all my rigs so I can selectively add them back after the upgrade. What is the best process to reset the unit to factory settings?

Make a copy on PC of your backup, open it and cancel the content of the rigs folder, save and close. Copy it back to the usb key (take care to put the "good" backup somewere else) and restore. Now you have a KPA without rigs, to restore the factory ones go to the System menu and scroll 'till you find the factory rigs option.
