It is a touch sensitive Talk Box effect.
The amp is bypassed, because I used a stompbox to drive the vowel wah.
Thanks, interesting, I'll give a try
Sound clips, and a pedal controlled version have been added:
I uploaded a profile with a touch Talk Box in the X slot. If your pickups are louder or quieter than mine, you may have to adjust it. When you get the right amount of gain dialed in for your guitar, you can use playing dynamics to make it work.

I also uploaded an Expression pedal controlled version, with a Shaper added for more harmonics:

If you have a control pedal, assigning it to the vowel wah could make it easier to use with different guitars.
ok thanks!
(the 1st link fails)
Sounds awesome, Paul! I'm definitely going to try this for Pigs. I'm sick of packing my Banshee for one song.
I fixed the first link. Sollazzon, thanks for letting me know!
Ben,
If I wasn't using mine for words in one of the songs we play, I would probably use it, too. Surprisingly, the touch sensitive version "feels" a little more intuitive to me than using the pedal. If the Banshee stays at home, take just the tube with you - technology can't get in the way of the show
I Didn't have time to try the profile yet..but listening to the clip it really seems to be very interesting. Nice Job paul..As always!
Well, I gave these rigs a shot yesterday but they didn't seem to work well with my weak single-coil pickups and the Muff sim. I'll keep tweaking, but until the KPA allows expression pedal assignment by rig I won't be able to replace my Banshee for gig use anyway.
I was using one of my Hamer Phantoms when I made that rig - it has an 11K ohm or so bridge humbucker. I'm sure you'll need to add gain before the vowel filter.
BTW - with your rigs dialed in for the Floyd show, don't be tempted to switch to EMGs from your low output pickups. Imagine how much more tweaking you would have to do, to get them back to they way you want them to be.
Don't worry, I'm not switching pickups anytime soon. I really like this Area 67/67/61 set. It's not very Gilmourish, but I've been using them for so long they feel like comfortable shoes.
That sound is in his (and your) hands, not pickup brand
fantastic paults
Thank you!
