I'm completely undecided on what to do at the moment with the Kabinet. I know I definitely want one, but I had the unpowered head so decisions are between an external power amp + Kab or wait for the powered.
The thing that is giving me pause is that the price difference for the unpowered head vs powered in the UK is around £350, so potentially the powered Kab will be about £350 more than the current unpowered?
Now I'll only be using the Kab at home, so I could get something like the hotone loudster, or ever the SD Powerstage 170 along with the Kab and save a few £'s if the powered Kab is going to end up being as expensive as it would seem.
Anyone got any thoughts on this?
think the powered cab wont be anytime soon with the way the world is now. Im in a similar situation, i only need power for home use and saw the camplifier studio yesterday (25w) which is cheaper than the SD, i could maybe get that, the Kone and buy a cheap empty cab for about £70. The kone and kabinet prices were bumped up a few days ago
The SD 170 is around the £350 mark so you would in effect have the powered kemper, but maybe overkill powerwise

After some review, I decided to spring for the SD Power Stage 170. I have two CLR cabs and haven't until I purchased the Kone had a need for a separate power amp. The CLRs are now going to be used as monitors. The Duncan although pricey seemed from reviews to be reliable ,powerful enough, and have onboard EQ. Plus they seem to hold their value in the used market.
i am in a similar situation, 2 CLRs that i use at home as monitors for kemper and music playback. Glorious for that, but they are huge. I just wonder whether playing through the Kabinet for guitar is more rewarding than 2 clrs for homeuse

wouldnt different cab woods help if people wanted to focus on a type of sound though? If someone prefers a clean fenderish sound compared to high gain, open/closed back etc?

My Kabinet arrived yesterday and though I know, that Kemper's inventions and amendments are really worthy and innovative I didn't expect this huge improvement.
WOW !!!!! Holy shit !!!!! This Thing rocks !!!!!
I've been playing for forty years and owned a pretty large amount of amps , speakers and cabinets and still own two of my favorite Guitar Amps (Two Rocks), and I think I can judge, how an amp has to sound in the room.
Since yesterday I now understand the whole discussion about "Amp-in-the-room" vs. "miked-amp-sound".
Since I bought my first Profiler in 2014 I made a lot of profiles of my TwoRocks and tweaking those for my monitor-Sound (Yamaha DXR10) and FoH (Yamaha DSR18 and DSR12) and I was pretty close to the originals.
But now with the Kabinet IT IS THE ORIGINAL with all the chime, haptic feeling and dynamic-response of the real thang.
I never would have expected this. Even the 10 Inch Imprints of the Jensens remind me to my 66-Vibrolux and the Oxford-Imprint combined with the 62 Deluxe profile ARE my 66-Deluxe-Reverb as I remember.
This Kabinet will be the enemy of all FoH-technicians, because loud-stages will come back !!!!!
wow, quite the review!

It was £440 not euro's although there's little difference between the two currencies during the current crisis to be fair. UK retailers are selling for £359 so definitely much cheaper than the Kemper store.
if you go on the shop links they wont be that price anymore, the kones have gone up aswell

Thanks that's handy to know although it's unfortunately around 25% more than UK retailers are listing them at.
thats odd, last night it was around £366. i was deciding whether to buy it

i asked Ingolf this yesterday on TGP and the seymour duncan 170 poweramp is pretty much the same as the powered kemper
