Aha, there you go, you're 100% correct, been saying the same thing for over a year.
Guys browse through the stock Profiles, hear a lower volume without the "shine", then say the stock Profiles suck.
That's why I recommend instead of just listening to the stock Profiles, rather record them, then you'll hear what they sound like at the 'true' volume.
If anyone ever makes a better Profile than the stock Kemper Amps AC30 Top Boost, I'd like to hear it...that Profile cannot be beat.
Same with the Matchless Chieftan (The Chief), the Gibson Goldtone (Goldie), and Tom Hemby's Bad Cat (Bad Kittie)...add a Compressor and the Pure Boost and they're superb.Think about it, most of the stock Profiles were done in Nashville during the Nashville Studio sessions, or in Peter Fischers amazing studio using the best mics and pre's available...it's hard to Profile any better.
100% true.

Wow, what a nice both!

I want to know, too?
I understand for very experimental guys cabmaker can be' potentially' useful.
But as IMO cabs in the KPA give me far superior results than any IR Collection I personally don't want to go back to these old paradigms (i.e. loading gazillions of IR's just to find one that fits or fits 'better').
That's so "yesterday" if you know what I mean.
I simply son't See a "best of both worlds" here?
Show me one IR superior to a Kemper cab! -
My favorite free profiles that I can remember right now are:
Morgan AC20 - BTW don't be afraid to tweak this one as it is hugely versatile covering pretty much anything south of metal.
JCM SLASH (Eric Stam) - Nice modern Marshall tone dialed in a little warmer.
DUMBLE 1978 OD - This one is rather interesting, try the cab with some other amps, its mid focus character can be really cool.
Henriksen 112extJAZZ - If you want artchtop jazz clean, this profile is fantastic.Funny, so we have a HUGE overlap here as I also use the JCM Slash a lot for more rough edge.
I could use your profiler anytime and feel at home.

If you're talking about the "Top Boost" Profile, it's fantastic.
Yes, that's the one, of course. Comes in different mic flavours and one has the top boost and normal channel bridged for extra raumchiness.
KPA is in the case right now on my way to rehearsal, so I can't look. -
Good read. Thanks!

+ 1 here for the Morgan AC20.
But don't dismiss the factory profiles. There are some that I absolutely LOVE!
The AC 30 from the Nashville profiling sessions is particularly good. -
Bulk download has been requested several times. Would make life with auditioning profiles from time to time a lot easier.
-
... with 3 young children, life is not quietI know, but neither with the Kemper.
-
Also from me: never mind the stars!
I put some profiles of my Marshall 6100 on the rig exchange recently, and had also a 1-star rating.
Don't bother. Upload what you think represents your amp best.Oh yeah, and I also do think that we need a Facebook-ish 'like' system instead of the current star rating.

Plus the fact that the OP wants to switch amps. Not possible with a locked stack.
-
Yeah, that's the page I tried to link to.
The dang forum software still does it wrongly. -
And a very basic question, while we're at it:
Why is class D always estimated inferior to A/B?
Isn't this myth? -
Of course, I need two different cabs to have a stereo effect.
No, not even then. To perceive a REAL stereo image you additionally need shifts in time and/or pitch like in a stereo chorus, delay with different delay times left and right etc..

Sorry guys, this again only is in response and reaction to another attempt at FAS to belittling the KPA in an inappropriate way ( here: the 11 kHz mythos).
Considering this, this is quite a civil mannered forum. -
I understand the OP asks for something like 'global amps' in the Axe-FX.
This is currently not possible in the KPA.
Locking a stack when you change presets doesn't help if you want to be able to change amps with the preset.
I for one would definitely welcome some kind of 'global amp' feature as an additional option.
But mandatory for me like for the OP it is certainly not. -
May I ask what is cabdriver ?
Surf here and scroll down:
http://kemper-amps.com/page/re…lifier___Latest_News.htmlCabdriver is the name of the feature introduced in 1.5 that when you tick 'Cab Off' in monitor out menu the cab is not simply switched off but some important characteristics of it and the inhering amp is retained. It's a genius feature NO OTHER UNIT has.
And it hasn't got enough praise yet IMO.
