Sorry, I wasn't clear, I'm just after a particular pitch range, (using strings was a bad example as opposed to a particular octave,) to only be affected. The Boss OC-3 does exactly what I'm after. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8EUsDB42bAs around 2:30 shows this.

Requesting an octave down effect but only affecting a certain octave range, for example, just the bottom 2 strings have octave down to play basslines, and the other 4 strings can play chords. Would be helpful for situations without a bassist! The Boss OC-3 has polyphonic mode which achieves this.
Thanks

More delay parameters for a tape delay sound is what I'd like next, the modulation on the delay at present is just a chorus sound, where as a tape delay has a different type of modulation.

Once I get it and learn it, I'll profile it multiple settings both direct and using my Cannibis Rex loaded Tech 21 Power Engine 60. Been curious about it for a long time. I'm not even a huge Dumble tone chaser, but have dug many of the clips I've heard. Especially some of the cleaner stuff.
Sweet! Can you do a direct profile that will work into a clean amp? Assuming you mean direct as in with cab sims when you say direct?
Thanks

Tape delay style modulation is what I'm after the most...

The speaker sim to the Joyo is always ON, something that maybe you don't want - need when you make DI profiles.
With the GI 100 that mentioned, you have a cab sim ON/OFF option, make it more suitable to use for what you want, as normal DI for direct profiles, or as cab sim for your amp(s).There is a switch on the side that says Cab 4x12 on the Joyo, does that not turn the cabinet sim off?
Edit: nvm that switches between combo and 4x12 simulations, guess I'll be getting the Behringer then!
Cheers everyone!

Get this one:
http://www.thomann.de/gb/behringer_gi100_ultra-g.htmIt´s the same as the other Behringer but has a selectable cab sim, which you won´t need for profiling but it can help in certain situations where you need a quick and dirty cab sim. Apart from that those GI-100s work great. I have 6 of running in my studio and they really good because they can handle speaker levels.
Hmm the joyo has a speaker sim as well and is cheaper... -
Hey guys,
Anyone have an experience or knowledge of which is the best one to get?
http://www.joyoaudio.com/en/product/show_105.html
http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/DI100.aspx
Both are around the same price, the behringer is about $6 cheaper.
Thanks

The output will be too low to drive a guitar speaker.
Probably you'd rather use and old stereo HI-FI power amp instead of a headphone out.Works for me!

Don´t worry, the 100 DI Box series from Behringer belong to the better products by Behringer. I used those for years, and never had any problem with them. Besides, those speker level signals are not as delicate as a microphone signal which might require a more high end device.
Okay thanks!

Just get the Behringer GI-100 and put it between the speaker out of the amp and the cabinet. It´s essential to have a cab attached because you´re not using a load box. Most load boxes tend to color the sound themselves, so i don´t like them that much. The good new is that you don´t need to set your amp to a high volume. This whole power amp distortion thing will get you nowhere. The DI profile will sound just as good if you set your amp to a moderate volume.
If you are not using any submixer with phantom power for the DI signal, you will need to put a battery in the DI Box. I would recommend using the TS 1/4" return kack of the KPA since you are feeding it with a line level signal. Since the DI Box only has XLR connector for the DI signal, you may need an adapter or and XLR to TS cable.
Afterwards, you add your favourite cab profiles. Very simple
Since this process will be a game of trial and error to check out which amp settings work best with your favourite cabs use this little trick:
- Use the setup as described before
- Monitor your KPA output with headphones if you are in the same room with your cab that you use as load or studio monitors if you are in an isolated room.
- Instead of going to profiler mode, go to normal browse mode, and deactivate everything but the cab section on the KPA. Select your favourite cab profile then
- Now activate the effect loop in a stomp slot before the cab section. Now you will be able to hear the live DI signal of the amp + the cab profile. This way you can test dialing in amp settings that work best. This little trick basically allows you to use the KPA just a speaker simulator, which may be nice for those who prefer using a real amp live but want a perfect and consistent PA sound.
Do you think if a higher quality DI would make a better DI profile? Eg using a radial instead of the behringer? I'm after a DI to do some profiling and it'll be great if I don't have to spend much to get pretty much the same result. Cheers

I haven't been able to get it close to my Deja Vibe yet, doesn't quite have enough throb. I messed around for a while the other day with it maybe I will stumble on the right config soon...

I have some preamp profiles of my ceriatone overtone and one from my Mesa Mark IV. Clean, dirty etc. I'll upload them in a sec.
