I'm excited! I keep checking the site looking for it.
+1
wondering which time zone has to be considered...here wednesday is almost over -
Hi, nice test, it would be interesting comparing each rig both with it's own cab, and your go to cab, to hear the difference in the mix.
Is there any post processing in the daw or in the kpa?
I'm selecting good metal rig too, but i'm not into the cab swapping thing, It would be great sharing the results!
Cheers -
I'm very excited too, he knows how to metal!!!
Plus some times ago he posted a profiling session video with Jeff Loomis, hope that profile will be in this pack!!! -
I can see lots of victims of german humor, haha.

I'm picturing Mr Kemper saying: "Listen, I don't want to make you a whammy pedal, I just want to be a lumberjack!" -
Thanks, we'll keep the faith!

Thank you so much for sharing!!!

Sounds good, I like the Roadster profile very very much!!!!

Man, no matter which is the KPA or the real amp, these tracks sound awesome!!!
Can't wait for you to put out the amp pack you're talking about, really need some bad a** metal sound like this one!!!
I'm guessing the KPA is the purple one btw, not because of the sound (differences as already told are not worth mentioning) but because of what I'm seeing, I've done some KPA reamping myself and the waveform has always little less peaking than the original amp...but I might be wrong!!! -
Neat, this will be the first user profile(s) I have downloaded since deleting all rigs expect for a few from amp factory.
Hope you're not deleting this too
-
Hi, Dave,
I checked your profiles out for jingling and producing. Imo they are nice and powerful. Fine work!
Thank you so much!!!
-
Hi,
just uploaded a couple of profiles I've made with an Orange Thunderverb50 head and an Orange 2x12 cabinet loaded with Celestion V30 speakers.
Every settings on the amp for these profiles are at 5 (mid position), except from the Attenuator at 0.
Mic used is an SM57 placed on axis for channel A and off axis for channel B.Enjoy!!!

I know what you're talking about, I have almost 2000 profiles
BTW you are welcome! -
So I profiled the Lepou HiBrit and a cab IR ( Kalthallen Cabs Nebula ) and a LeCto with the same cab . I loaded those profiles into Kemper and selected my JCM800 amp profile replacing the LePou amp sections. The results varied because the cab sections inherit the characteristics of the amps they were profiled with . I really like the blending of sounds and I feel things are a little more predictable now . In a good way creatively . Tone blending kind of a cool thing.
Cool, have you tried the same IR converted with CabMaker to check which one sounds better to you?
-
Thank you for sharing. I really like the profiled IR . I would like to use your approach to converting IRs as well. Could you lay out the details of the signal flow. Great job Dave
All the best
MarcelHi Marcel, thank you for your feedback, what I did is:
Guitar to KPA Input
KPA Direct Out to Apogee Enseble Hi-Z In
Ensemble Out to KPA ReturnOn the Mac I set up a Cubase project (any DAW will work the same, a good audio interface it's the deal) with one mono track, an amp simulator on the first insert slot and an IR loader on the second insert slot.
For the amp simulator I tried a few different (Amplitube, LePou, GTR...) with 99% the same result, the only plugin end up sounding weird was Guitar Rig, so I wouldn't recommend you to use it.
Set up a distorted sound and bypass the cabinet, then load an impulse in the second insert slot.
Let the KPA do his profiling magic, refine it and then store just the Cabinet.
That's it!Please let me know if it's working for you too!
