Outstanding. Really enjoyed listening to this - you nailed it sir!

IF ANYONE HAS AN ANSWER FOR THESE PROBLEMS THAT'D BE GOOD TO - I've adjusted my clean sense slightly to stop my input led from hitting red and clipping, I've adjusted it slightly down so it only just touches yellow , Is this correct?. I don’t know.
I have a patch where if I start to dial the gain up or down, the volume of the actual patch starts to increase and decrease exponentially.
Do I turn cab sim off for FOH? If so how do I do that? NO KEEP Cab on for FOH!!!!
•Engage -12db pad for FOH mixer headroom. YES - I may have mine set even lower (-15 or -18 maybe can’t remember). Just for main outs.
•Make sure rigs are volume balanced, What's the best way to do this? Just using rig volume?. I use a single profile for the whole gig and simply morph in some gain, mids and any effects I desire for my lead sound. Multiple rigs can cause trouble with varying volumes but also varying eq’s - just use one great profile is my opinion....MBritt profiles transfer well to live volumes IMO
•Disconnect Main outs to allow independent Monitor out & Cab volume adjustment without effecting FOH. YES
•Keep USB with patch/firmware backups. Sure. I bring a second KPA which is overkill I know.
If anyone has any more relevant tips please do share!

I have the non-powered KPA rack and have gigged it for 6 years now. Racked in a 6u case with a Furman, a Matrix power amp and a Shure qlxd4 wireless. Sits on top of my speaker cabinet. I have a custom interface on the back for super quick hook ups. It has been rock solid and never skipped a beat.
I also have the stage and I use it for smaller gigs - plugs into a Valvetrain Powertrain 50 tube amp on stage. Has worked great.

I have been playing my stage at home and at gigs since i got it July 2019. Not one problem.

I morph in some gain and mids +/- delay etc to taste.I don’t really add volume.
When solo boosting worry less about manipulating your volume (which can throw off gain structure at the board if you boost it too much) and more about adding mids. You can do this with a stomp box ( tubescreamers add mids) or with an EQ block and a drive much like the Tone Junkie tips and tricks videos do to emulate stomps that arn't in the Kemper. Or you can have a lead performance where the amp mid knob is boosted. There are tons of ways but you want MIDS not necessecarily volume. Volume is perceived when you hear the guitar start to cut wit the added mids. Small volume boosts (1-3db) can be ok but it still won't do much for you unless you are manipulating those mids.

Britts profiles translate very well to live stage volumes without tweaking any eq. Could find one of his you like and use it live.

I personally have been done with FRFR for live monitoring now for a couple of years for the most part (although I use IEM’s - does that count?). Migrated from Atomic CLR’s on stage, which are VERY good, but just didn’t seem/feel right to me. In addition, we are by no means a silent stage when we play live, and I was concerned for those members of the crowd that are mobbing the front of the stage, immersed in stage wash more so than FOH regarding what they hear, have as authentic experience as possible, which to me is a guitar cab.
I have been using a traditional guitar cab onstage now for a couple of years - coupled with my unpowered KPA rack and a matrix power amp. Mon out from KPA to matrix in has cab sims off. Sounds and feels right to me.
For smaller gigs, I am LOVING the profiler stage and the ValveTrain PowerTrain 50 combination on stage. Super easy load in/out. For this rig I am keeping my cab sims on per Britt and HW recs. I have tried this both ways and like the cab sims on better with this PowerTrain. I have the regular 50, not the Britt model.
In both setups I of course keep cab sims on the main out to FOH.
I plan to get the Kabinet as soon as it is released just to try it out.
I still own the CLR’s and use them for evaluating new profiles before using them live.

I don’t use an expression pedal currently.

Mine does this too.

I use a matrix amp into a regular cab to get that amp in the room sound and I am happy with it. Cabs are of course turned off for that output. FOH of course gets cabs turned on. I play this setup at home all the time through a guitar cab and it sounds great, at various volumes.

Hi,
I know this has been discussed before but my question is a bit more specific and I need to hear from experiences from others.
Currently I'm running my powerrack through a ENGL Pro 4x12 with V30's.
I was just considering switching over to a HeadRush FRFR-112 (because of sound, size and weight) but before doing so I need to know the answer to the following questions:- Will the Headrush go as loud as the cab? Probably not.
We play metal and we're playing really loud both on stage as well in the rehearsal room.
I'm afraid it won't get as loud since a monitor only has one or two speakers instead of four in case of a 4x12
Am I right? - Will a FRFR active monitor (so 20-20000hz) cut through a band mix as good as a cab can? Up to your FOH and monitor guy more so than cab/FRFR.
A guitar cab has just tones in the midrange and I'm affraid with FRFR it's more difficult to stand out when playing loud even in a rehearsalroom - When playing both FOH and FRFR on stage I would set Monitor Out and Direct Out to Master Left and Master Right.
But do I need to switch off the poweramp as well? (because I want to use Monitor Out for FRFR) I would go Mono out with one XLR (R/L) to FOH and the other XLR (R/L) to the FRFR.
Thanks in advance for answering.

I used to use FRFR (Atomic CLR) but i now have a matrix power amp for my non powered rack into an avatar cab on stage. I also use a shure psm 900 IEM.
Why did I switch from FRFR to a cab - it “feels better”. And I think it may “sound” better for those venues where the crowd catches a significant amount of stage wash - my opinion and certainly open for debate.
- Will the Headrush go as loud as the cab? Probably not.

6 dB would be way too much for me. I keep the same profile but add some gain, some mids and a 1.5 dB volume boost with morph. Our stage volume is rather loud.

Mine comes Friday. Great format IMO. Super quick set-ups and break downs.

like it what profiles?
Thanks. Amp Factory custom shop.

Both guitars are Kemper.

I can see how it would look untidy from the front.
Did you build that yourself? Nice job.No I had it made for me. Best-Tronics Pro-Audio in Chicago did my rack.

I used to have the interface on the front of the rack but moved it too the back side. Looks more tidy on stage that way (IMO).
