Thanks for the help guys and thanks for the poweramp advice, i think i might try the behringer. The matrix is a bit mad expensive.

Rig volumes are always 0 or less. I'll try a line level next time. I found the KPA was getting very noisy at lower volume levels. As in noise floor.
-
Oh sorry no, a mic in not a line in.
-
Yes, connected as you say, master volume on powermixer was just over half, channel gain was around 1.5, by the time it was at 2 it was unusablely loud/uncontrollably feeding back. (Couldn't turn mixer main down because of other sources connected)
-
Theres no desk, it was just some terrible powered mixer in our practise room. Connected via XLR with main ours config'd to send master mono. Not ideal but i wasn't expecting to have so much trouble. -25 was still FAR too hot on it. What is the point in having the default volume of the main out utterly unusable...?
I also encountered a lot more issues with feedback than i was expecting to, far more than with my actual amp. I had to crank the stomp 4:1 noise gates threshold to 7ish and the main noise gate to 8ish just to stop the constant feedback. How are other users setting up NG's on hi gain profiles? This is with dirks unmodifed VH4+TS profile.

Hey guys,
Had my first band practise with a KPA today, bit of a disaster, the poweramp i got cheap off ebay wasn't nearly loud enough (i'm gonna have to drop big money on one of those matrix's ), so i ran the main outs into our PA and found it unusable untill i set the master out's volume to about -40. I assumed it'd just stay on zero. Even with it at minus 40 it was too hot and the noise was starting to get too much too. I assume i'm probably doing something wrong somewhere?

I didn't mean for things to get quite so vitriolic, i just haven't manage to recreate "that" sound with the internal TS. If anyone has example settings i'll give it a whirl!
-
Does anyone have example settings? I'm not going to be using a pedal in front of the amp, i bought the KPA to simplify things Its not the end of the world this as there are profiles made with a TS.
-
Use your ears...
Yes, aware of all this. The "green scream" sounds nothing like an actual TS in front of an amp to my ears.
-
I always run a tubescreamer amp in front of a high gain amp in the usual drive 0, tone middle level full config. I can't find any setting on the KPA that works for this. As such i have to relay on profiles created with a TS, of which i can't find many.

I've built my own MIDI pedal not too long ago, so i got to experiment a little.
The profiler does take a little while to process MIDI signals. When i asked support, they said they were working on it.
The time it takes to load a rig is the time it takes to load a couple dozen of SysEx commands - the profiler takes a little under 100ms to respond to a single SysEx command via MIDI,
multiple ones (such as the ones contained in a .kipr file) don't have to go through the MIDI input buffer, but there are a few of them so it takes around 400ms in my experience, in browse mode.My footswitch is built using an Arduino processor. Formerly i used a simple MIDI chip from an old ADA footswitch, and while testing i used MIDI-ox, which is practically instantaneous - it doesn't matter, the times were the same.
The differences you're getting are because some footswitches use NRPN messages instead, or even simple MIDI commands which should process faster.Ok, that makes some kinda sense sort of I'm hoping when they finally release their official FS all this issues will be gone.

Any more thoughts on this after all the info provided? I know theres loads of other users using the same gear, are my results the same as yours?
-
By luck my flatmate had one. Ridiculous to not just be a standard screw though
-
Its been provided with feet....that have some kind of security bolt on. What an absolute joke? Why aren't these a standard screwdriver or what would make even more sense, thumb screws? Beyond daft.

I've noticed that when switching with the rig button, the light on the kpa is slower to move than with the fcb1010. The actual audio seems the same though
-
Ah ok then I'm not sure. I haven't configured anything at all on the fcb1010
-
But yes the kpa was in performance mode during the vid!
-
Lightbox, the fcb1010 wasn't connected in any way during the midiox tests?
-
As requested heres a video too. Its not the clearest though haha. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqETrZPZttA
The first 4 odd changes are with the nav buttons, the last set are with the fcb1010.

Now it seems to be behaving differently, on first press sending a PC with an instrument name, and then subsequant ones are CC expression, one for a press and another on the depress.
