I thought it might be useful to share this little tip :
The Kemper head has a usb connection at the back. This might be not so handy when the head is installed on a "fixed spot" and you want to carry out an update, import rigs etc.
Solution : use an usb extension cable and plug your usb stick in this extension cable. That way it's much easier to access the usb stick. I leave the stick connected permanently.

Well, I have been using my kemper with the Roland ac 33 for a few days and I must say I'm very pleased with wat I'm hearing.
The Kemper sounds very good through the roland acoustic amplifier, also for the more distorted sounds ( eg. Marshall Plexi profile that is included with the kemper).

Connection I made : Kemper to Mixer (Allen and Heath), mixer to aux in from Roland Ac 33.
I only play at (appartement) bedroom levels. ( Maybe the results are not satisfactory at higher volume levels, that I don't know)
I have the Kemper on a shelf right in front of my head . This way I experience a nice "sound pressure" when I'm playing but this "loudness" seems to be very local. This may be caused by the "shape of my bedroom and the placement of the roland and furniture round the roland but is very positive for me. I have the experience of playing at "stadium" levels but I don't disturb the neighbours at all !!

At the moment I don't feel the need to buy a monitor or dedicated frfr speakers for my kemper.

    Greetings,

    Denis

This may be a dumb question but I'm going to ask it anyway :

Does the kemper have an internal lithium battery for memory storage etc ?
If so : when I'm not playing is it better to keep the power cord pugged in (connected to electricity) - of course with power turned of - so that the internal battery can charge ?

Or is this nonsense ;( ?

    Denis

And after a few days the feeling stays the same.
I must admit I did no go deep in the editing menu yet... because the unit just sounds wonderful without tweaking. Just some minor EQ-ing and then playing.

    Thanks guys (and girls ?)

Kemper is delivered at home now. But I'm still at the office ....:evil::evil::evil:

    Life is hard....

    @ Laimon : I said I "had limited talents. I did not say I totally sucked !!!!!! ;)

    Hello,

Just a little message to officialy announce I joined the club : I ordered a Kemper (white-non power amp- desktop model ) and it will be in store tomorrow !

Probably the worst guitar player of the club BUT I DON'T CARE ABOUT THAT NOW !!!!!
(just an appartment bedroom player with limited talent but with a lot of enthousiasm !)

Now where are these congratulations ?

    Greetings,

    Denis from Belgium

    Thanks for all your answers.
Concerning the headphones : I listened to the samples of profiles of the amp factory through my headphones and these sounded very good !
Is this a good reference point ?

Anyway, my local store is going to have a kemper in stock soon so I'll be able to try it out myself !

Ok that's a strange title, but I want to know if the Kemper Profiler is more or less "idiot proof".
Situation is this : I'm just a hobby player, without too much talent, living in an appartement.
I enjoy playing lessons from (blues)books, websites like justin guitar etc,

I discoverd that tube amps are not ideal for my situation, especially when playing in the evening.
Modelling devices can be a solution but often loose the "simplicity" of the tube amp, certainly the more advanced modelling amp models (like line 6 hd etc...).

The kemper seems different to me : it seems to behave more like a normal amp. But it is also more expensive. So I want to think twice before I buy.
Are there any guitarists that have this hobby "profile" like me and are using the kemper succesfully as a practice amp at home or are you all mor or less high skilled pro's ?

    Denis
ps : big applause to the soccer team of Belgium !!!
( USA you were very worthy opponents !)

@ Pentatonic : I don't own a Kemper yet but yesterday I did a test with my boss eband. This is a modeller that uses the (simplified) "engine" of a boss gt 10.
I ran the lineout of the boss e band into the aux in of the roland ac 33. Roland ac 33 was at a bedroom volume. I compared the tone with the tone through my headphones (AKG studio headphones) and I must say the roland ac 33 indeed did a good job.
Be aware that I did not use the guitar "channel" of the roland ac 33 which might be less neutral. Also I did not raise the volume and used a bluesy tone ( deluxe with boost) not a high gain tone.
Within these limitations the tEst was quite satisfactory but maybe with higher distortion and at a higher volume this is a different story. Also with I high end modeller like a kemper maybe the roland ac 33 might loose some details which aren't there anyway in the boss e band. That remains to be seen.....

So I guess I could try this configuration with the kemper for a while and maybe after some time I might consider to by monitors. Is the KRK RP 5 series any good with the kemper ?

    Denis

@ Mattt66. That is very good news for me. Thanks for your Message.

viabcroce : mixer because i have also a tascam mp3 player that i use with backing tracks and also tc helicon voicelive play with vocal effects when i (try to ) sing along . All these sources go to the roland ac 33 or headphones.

    Greetings,

    Denis

@ lAIMON : the Roland ac 33 is a solid state ACOUSTIC amp . So I think it's normal not to have an effects loop. I has an auxiliary input though.

The way I would run this : Kemper into mixer, mixer to aux input of roland.

Also in my understanding acoustic amps are more like pa's : they're designed to be "neutral" (hence the full range speakers).

Or am I missing something ?

    Hello,

I've got a roland ac33 (acoustic guitar amplifier). I often use this amp with my yamaha silent guitar. Can I use this amp to amplify a kemper amp with good results.
I believe the ac 33 has full range speakers so they should not color the sound too much. Will be used in appartement so level will not be too loud also.
If I'm not mistaken I read in the past some tesimonials of guitarist who used the amp as monitor with Native Instruments guitar rig with good results.

Nevertheless I'm interested in your thoughts. (Budget is a little thight so if I can use the ac 33 and I don't have to buy new monitors I can buy my kemper sooner !)

    Kind regards,

    Denis

If you're interested in in the Yamaha THR 10, you could also check out the BOSS js 10 (e-band).
The js 10 has speaker out for external speakers.

I have the older version js 8 and I'm very pleased with it. Very handy practice device ( metroneome, recording, slowdownb function) although I'm also interested in "upgrading" to a Kemper.

Ps : the demo's from Boss are very, very, very bad in my opinion buit in reality the js 8/10 is much more versatile and better sounding.

    Greetings,

    Denis
