Hey there,
Well it happens in the rehersal room with the UTrack24 and my midi-floorboard. Will try to capture a video next rehersal.

Hey there,
Well in cakewalk i just send the even at a certain timestamp, e.g. 1.00min.
I am not familier with these midi tools. If this helps, here is an example of such a file:
Display MoreHi! To turn stomps/effects on or off, you have to use Control Changes in your midi track.
CC#17--20 = stomps A--DCC#22 = X
CC#24 = Mod
CC#27 = Delay
CC#29 = Reverb
Setting the CC to zero turns the stomp/effect slot off, setting it to any other value (1--127) turns it on. I'm not familiar with Cakewalk Sonar, unfortunately, so I don't know how it works for CCs.
Now for your more specific question: keeping the transpose effect on for an entire song, while changing rigs. You could do different things.
* You could program your MIDI track to turn the transpose effect on every time you change rigs, but that seems risky (you would have to time it precisely so that the rig is changed before the effect is turned on, but it has to be quick enough so you don't hear it...).
* You could lock the slot where you put the transpose effect. That way it becomes "global", completely independent of rig changes, as if you had a separate transpose stomp box next to your Kemper. You can turn it on and off independently (using CCs or your pedalboard), and even if you change to another rig, it will stay the way you set it.
The disadvantage is that if you want to use that slot for other effects in other songs, you'd have to unlock it again during the set. Locking/unlocking is not something you can easily do via MIDI.
* You could make a copy of your Rig "Crunch" and your Rig "Clean" for that specific song, and store them with the transpose effect already ON. That way, the moment you switch to those rigs, you'll already be in the right key. The Kemper has room for hundreds of rigs so you could even make specific rigs for every song (especially since it will all be automated so you don't have to remember which foot switch to press!).
Oh and your advance question! Yes, switching to another rig via your pedalboard will kill the transpose effect (unless you switch to a rig that also has a transpose effect set to ON, of course). The only way to prevent this is by locking the transpose slot.
hey there,
I have a (Stupid) question: I programmed the channel change in cakewalk. I worked perfetct.
As a fallback I still want to use my Floorboard to change sounds. Therefore i bought a midi merger in front of the keper midi in. Also works great.
But the problem is: when I have a program change done by the midi track, lets say at 1.00 minutes to a clean sound. And the i press to another sound on my floorboard (lets say crunch sound) it directly switches back to the clean sound, as if the program change from the midi track permanently sends the change till the next „real“ change from the midi grack happens.
Any Idea how to solve this?
Thankx so much for your feedback! Ich programmed Rig changes only for "starters", but will try that!
Hello Robrecht, hello guys!
This is exactly the tutorial i was looking for. Great work!
My Setup is Utrack24 to my Kemper (not in Performance mode for several reasons)
For the Midi Track editing i use my Cakewalk Sonar app.
Works perfect with Programm Changes.
What I did not figure out (me beeing stupid i guess) is how to change the FX on and off.
Example:
- Midi Track on goes to Rig "Crunch" and in the middle to Rig "Clean". (Works)
- BUT the whole Track should use the FX "Transpose" to have it on note higher
How do I send this to the Kemper? How do I program that in the Midi Track?
And do I have to do this every time I change the rig in the track?
And (advance question ::-) I have my pedal board still in place via "midi Merger", if I change the sound
via my pedalboard while the midi Track is playing, it will "kill" the "transpose", right?
I am happy von ANY answer.
Wishes,
Maria
yeah found that out today too....i could use the "master out left" for die Direct out, but than i have the Cab Sim and AmpSim with it, not just the Preamp....ok...back to square one ;_)
Really? I thought the Direct out is like a bridget input-to-output channel for things like Re-Amping delivering only a clean signal from the input....hmm....maybe should reread the manual
Hey guys,
so I got my Kemper Rack Profilier a week ago and I am more than happy with it. Even thou I am still using my Engl 840 als Poweramp live
But we will see, if I am going to change my mind over time
Wishes,

No THATS a very intressting disscussion!
I just have the same issue.... My Live-Setup has the Master Outs directly attached to the FOH. But I use my Engl 2x50W Poweramp+ Stereo Marshall Cabinet es Monitor.
Because of the Kemper only having a Mono Monitor Out, i need a chanal switch to make Mono -> Mono/Mono for my Engl Inputs...but I also don´t see any other way to do this....
