I think it wasn't misunderstanding, but I understand the reasons. Well, let's talk generally.
In all cases, one multicore cable can be used instead of two cables.
The simplest bidirectional connection of a MIDI controller and KPA can be made by two MIDI cables:

Only pins 4 and 5 are used according to the MIDI standard. The pin 2 is used for shielding. Other pins are unused or they can be used arbitrarily.
If the controller supports phantom supply over MIDI cable, the cables can be connected like this:

It is the case of the cable on the photo above. But still two connectors are necessary to be connected to the MIDI controller for bidirectional connection. Some MIDI controllers have only 5-pin DIN MIDI Out connector. Then pins 1 and 3 can be used for conducting the power supply and they should be soldered internally for connecting with power supply connector in the controller.
If the controller provides MIDI In signals on the MIDI Out connector, it can be connected also by one special 7-pin MIDI cable for conducting bidirectional MIDI and power supply:

MIDI Grande can be connected like this. It can be simply internally soldered in many other MIDI controllers.
If the controller has input for guitar signal and the signal is connected to the MIDI In connector, all the signals can be conducted by this cable:

MIDI Grande has an experimental Guitar In connector in some variants and a balanced preamplifier is developed for future versions. The Guitar In connector can also be home-made drilled and soldered to the MIDI In connector in many other MIDI controllers. With this concept, only two cables or one multicore cable, instead of 4, can be used for connection between the front of the stage (musician, MIDI controller) and the back (KPA rack/toaster, amp/cabinet/combo).
Good bye if they delete my account after this post.
