I'm also considering a poweramp and can't decide between Seymour Duncan PS170 and Harley Benton GPA400.
I used Camplifier Studio 25W before and it was sounding harsh above room levels.
My favourite profile for metal sound is "SinMix Trirec" in the Rig Exchange. (Bugera Trirec profile).
There are two more Trirec profiles in the Sinmix free pack but this one in the Rig Exchange is better than those.
Even though it's not a merged profile, I use the cab with other profiles and it works well.
Another one worth to mention is "PP 5153 Stealth 100S" by "PETE POTENS" again in the Rig Exchange.
This one is a merged profile, use it with your favorite cab and it rocks.
