I am using an ADA microtube 100 power amp and I'm very satisfied with tone it gives me. Also it was dirt cheap compared to Matrix and other PAs, so I can recommend it fully.

I'm using PERIPHERY DIST preset by Scott Herhold (Laney Ironheart) with much success for modern metal split coil sounds, they sound very similiar to Peripherys. Also try Bulb Rhythm Patch from Rig Exchange.

Of course You will need to tweak (a lot), but I finally found my tone after like 3-4 hours. Try to tweak the studio EQ's in Scott's preset, it's the key to that kind of sound.
