The best thing that I have found was using a cheap Behringer mixer with their great Invisible Preamps. Set the level perfectly in the mixer meters, and send that to the return. Gives you options of multi-mic profiles, etc.

When I had the Atomic Amplifire (AA3), I fell into the IR rabbit hole. I was all in, buying a boatload of IRs. I also learned how to do IR EQ Tone Matching, which is another rabbit hole of its own.
Since getting the Kemper, I can honestly say that I almost never use IRs any longer. I originally started using CabMaker to transform IRs to the Kemper format, and putting them onto the Kemper. I found that the converted IRs sounded different from any cab loader in a DAW.
I have around a dozen of my old favorite IRs on my Kemper, but I have only used them once in a saved profile. In my eyes, not worth it.

You don't import via RM. You need to use a USB drive.
Put a thumb drive into the Kemper and format it. Then remove it, and copy your IRs onto the thumb drive, in the shared folder. It's all in the video.

Put the IR through Cab Maker (in download are, under utilities), then add it to your Kemper.

I've made this suggestion in the past, having genres that the profile is gear toward. I'm mostly a 70s, 80's hair band genre player. Some profiles that have a 5 star rating simply don't work for me. I don't vote on these profiles because I'm sure they're not for my genre.
On the other hand, at least you're getting ratings I've had profiles that got rave reviews on this forum, but have no ratings at all.

I've been running some test profiles of my Friedman BE-OD pedal.
It seems like the Kemper has an issue with this pedal, when refining the profile. It becomes VERY digital sounding, and completely loses the pedal's sound during the refine profile process. So, I stopped using the refining.

They are legit, go for it.

lespauled just so you are aware none of your signature links are working at this time. Internal Server error showing for webpage. fyi
It's back up. It was a duplicate certificate issue. The new cert was updated, but the old one remained. Kind of strange, but it's fixed.

I am able to rate them after right clicking on the profile, which previews it.

Kemper via XLR => FOCUSRITE => LAPTOP

Yep, already have a ticket in for the webhost. Thanks!!!

It's more than likely a threaded ajax call for the search that stops the previous search if you continue typing, thus causing no issues of being bogged down. I just ran a few tests, and it definitely seems to be the case.

There is nothing wrong with Win10. There are plenty of programs to turn off any possible "spyware" options, as you put it.
The reality is that Windows 7 has about a year left of life, and it's updates. So, the decision to not worry about backward compatibility is completely understandable.

You can simply create a folder on your desktop (or wherever you want) and drag the profiles from RM to that location. Saves each rig as a file in the destination folder.
-
I just right-clicked on an existing folder, and the popup menu gives you the option to add a new folder.

They should make a DOS 5 version.

Win7 has less than a year of life left.

I was one that was holding onto Win7 as long as I could. A hard drive crash, gave me the opportunity for a clean install, and decided to give Win10 a shot. There are some differences, and some annoyances, but overall, I like it. Things seem to be way too "dumbed down" for any IT professionals, but I guess it's more for casual users than IT Pros.
Overall, I don't miss Win7 at all.
