  • Kemper and analog preamp effects

    I am currently running an unpowered Kemper with a Yamaha Mixer MG10xu and HS8 powered Yamaha speakers and sub. I have bought several profiles which I really enjoy and they sound great but I have bought many that weren’t that great.


    I am not technical at all when it comes to adjusting profiles for a better sound and more of a plug and play guy.


    I have been looking at the Black Widow MGP-1A analog preamp and it appears to have no effects such as reverb, delay, and chorus. Just wondering if I could hook this preamp into the Kemper, switch off the amplifier and use the provided reverb, delays, etc. to supplement the models provided with the Black Widow? I also have digital stomp boxes that could be used for effects. I am worried that I may damage the Kemper if it is not hooked up correctly.

    Please let me know specifically which inputs would be used if I added an analog preamp to Kemper to get the best sound or should I not run it through the Kemper at all? Thanks!
