    Hi everyone,

I'm writing this as when I was trying to do this it took me weeks and had lots of on line help.

This will help you use the Snapshot feature to switch Kemper Rigs in Performance Mode.

Midi cable from Helix out - Kemper in

The following works with either "Instants" or "Footswitches"

    Good to Command centre

    Command - Bank PC

Midi Ch - Base (Kemper is left to Midi 1)

    CC00 - set to zero

    CC32 - "0" for up to Performance 26 Slot 3 / After this switch to "1" for Bank 2 / "2" for Bank 3

    Prog - 0-127 (see below)

Prog is where the performance slot is using a formula, which equates to this -

    Performance 1 / Slot 1 = 0

    Performance 1 / Slot 2 = 1

    Performance 1 / Slot 3 = 2

    Performance 1 / Slot 4 = 3

    Performance 1 / Slot 5 = 4

    Performance 2 / Slot 1 = 5

    Performance 2 / Slot 2 = 6

    Performance 2 / Slot 3 = 7

    Performance 2 / Slot 4 = 8

    Performance 2 / Slot 5 = 9

    Performance 3 / Slot 1 = 10

    Performance 3 / Slot 2 = 11

    Performance 3 / Slot 3 = 12

    Performance 3 / Slot 4 = 13

    Performance 3 / Slot 5 = 14

Carries on in same sequence until -

    Performance 26 / Slot 1 = 125

    Performance 26 / Slot 2 = 126

    Performance 26 / Slot 3 = 127

Now change CC32 to "1" instead of zero

    Performance 26 / Slot 4 = 0

    Performance 26 / Slot 5 = 1

    Performance 27 / Slot 1 = 2

    Performance 27 / Slot 2 = 3

    Performance 27 / Slot 3 = 4

    Performance 27 / Slot 4 = 5

    Performance 27 / Slot 5 = 6

You may also want to check the Midi Global Settings on Helix -

    Midi Base Ch - "1'

    Midi Thru - "off"

    Rx Midi Clock - "Auto"

    Tx Midi Clock - "off"

    Tempo - "Snapshot"

    BPM - "120"

    USB Midi - "off"

    Midi PC Rx - "off"

    Midi PC Tx - "off"

You may also want to check the Midi Global Settings on Kemper -

System Settings - scroll along to "Performance Mode: "Midi"

Soft Buttons at top - set to Midi Out for either channel you are using

I renamed my device "Helix" so I knew which it was and made sure on Channel 1

    Next Page

    UI to Midi - Unticked

    Pedal to Midi - unticked

    Send Midi Clock - unticked

Midi Global Channel - Channel 1

    CC73 - 127

If using "Instants" or Footswitches" to change rigs you may want to alter this setting too -

Global Settings - Preferences - Snapshot Edits - "Discard"

    Using Snapshots

    Go to Snapshot 1

Command Centre - Instant 1 - (set your required Performance Slot e.g Performance 1 Slot 1 see above table"

SAVE!!!!!!!!!! (As we changed the Snapshot edits to discard - otherwise you'll get the same performance slot on every Instant)

    Go to Snapshot 2

Command Centre - Instant 1 - (set your required Performance Slot e.g Performance 1 Slot 2 see above table"

    SAVE!!!!!!!!!!

    Go to Snapshot 3

Command Centre - Instant 1 - (set your required Performance Slot e.g Performance 1 Slot 3 see above table"

    SAVE!!!!!!!!!!

This should work perfect! Please contact me or persevere if not happening at first! They are SUPERB when both linked to my FRFR!!!!!

    Hi hjscheffler,

So what would I enter in the following values?

    Bank PC / 1 / 32 / 00 / 0

    Command / Midi Ch / CC / CC32 / Prog

    or

    Midi CC / 1 / 32 / 0

Command / Midi Ch / CCNo / Value

I have the Midi set to 1 as that's what it is on the Kemper.

Which would you recommend - Bank PC or Midi CC???

In Browser mode the amp I want is Midi PrgCng No 21

Or in Performance modeMidi Bank 2 Midi Prog 8

    Thank you!

    Hi digbob,

On my HX I have the two following choices -

    Bank PC 1 32 00 0

Command Midi Ch CC CC32 Prog

    or

    Midi CC 1 32 0

    Command Midi Ch CCNo Value

I have the Midi set to 1 as that's what it is on the Kemper.

Which would you recommend - Bank PC or Midi CC???

    Also

In Browser mode the amp I want is Midi PrgCng No 21

Or in Performance modeMidi Bank 2 Midi Prog 8

What values would I enter in the Bank PC or Midi CC settings?

    Many thanks!

    Hi Digbob,

I'm sorry I don't understand that at all.

What do you mean store the Rig with the Midi PC????

I need to know what to enter in the "Instant" or Footswitch" Midi CC

1 is my Midi Channel as is my Kemper

    What CC Number?

    What Value

I've tried to do all this myself with either Footswitches or Instants for the last 2 weeks but nothing works

    Hi,

I've brought a Helix FX effects and am just looking for a simple answer of how to store performances within snapshots. After scouring the web it seems you need a computer designers degree to understand what the hell to do!

All I want as a starting point is -

If I want to store Kemper Profile 1/Bank 1 in a Snapshot 1 - do I use Bank PC or Midi PC - what codes/values would I enter?

If I want to store Kemper Profile 1/Bank 2 in a Snapshot 2 - do I use Bank PC or Midi PC - what codes/values would I enter?

Once I have this I can apply to any other one but it seems to be bloody impossible, or at least for me with next to no midi experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi Keith,

    Thanks for the response.

Just tried it and no dice.

Have performance mode set on the Kemper.

    Command Centre Instant

    Bank PC 1 00 Off 0

Command Midi Ch CC00 CC32 Prog

    On Kemper Profiler Midi -

    Channel 1 Channel 1 A Midi B Midi

Helix Midi Device B (Not Used) Out Out

UI to Midi Pedals to Midi Send MIDI Clock

    Un checked Unchecked Unchecked

    Midi Global Channel 127

    Channel 1 CC73

On The Helix FX Effects (Midi/Tempo)

Midi Base Ch Midi Thru Rx Midi Clock Tx Midi Clock Tempo BPM USB Midi Midi PC Rx Midi PC Tx

1 Off Auto Both Preset 120 On Both Off

    Is this what you've got?

Thanks for taking the time to help, I know the pair when I can get to work in conjunction will be incredible!

    Cheers!

    Hi HJ

I've been trying that and studying the manual and no luck.

Have Midi lead going from Helix HX Effects Out to Kemper in

Then in Perform mode am using Midi CC messages and it won't sync (got it to work once in browser mode on Kemper but then Helix "forgot" it)

In Bank PC I've just no idea how to work out from that complex maths formula!

I just need an example -

Say "use MIDI CC or Bank" whichever works best

For Bank 1 slot 1 enter these values

For Bank 1 slot 2 enter these values

Once I've got that I can apply it to others

    Hi,

Thanks for trying but I just need a bit more direction.

I don't know if I should be using

    MIDI CC

    or Bank PC

Then there's the "Base" and all the "CC" "CC32" Prog or "Base", "CC" and "Value"!

I also need to know if there's anything to "change" on the Kemper too to check if it's "talking" to the Helix!

    Hi everyone,

Just got mine from Andertons UK who did a price match.

First impression are it’s big, but not too big and heavier than I thought, but still not as heavy as a tube amp combo!

On hoking up with my PRS SE to my favourite Kemper Profiles it sounded beautiful on 2 to 3 volume. Found its better to roll the Kemper back a bit and push to Laney to 3.

All I can say is it’s about 18 months since I had a tube amp and I’m so impressed after an hours playing. It “feels” like an amp can as you play it and even at 3, i would be loud for a bedroom.

I was torn for ages between getting this (very few reviews yet) and Atomic CLR (would have been about another 6 months saving!).

Never test drove a CLR but if it’s better than this then it would be barely perceptible to my ears. Someone said this gives 90% and CLR gives 100......well if 90% sounds this good then you can keep your extra 10% for the extra £500. I could even get another one for that price and have change!

One thing I messed up on was before plugging in I put both dials to zero, being cautious with the volume/speaker for first use........it sounded horrible! Quick check of the manual made me see I’d turned the treble all the wall off! Set it to “full” then roll back a little and it sounds incredible.

All I can say is for £330 this works beautifully with the Kemper, on cleans, crunches and high gain.

The front light is beautiful if in a “hazy” late night playing mood!

    Highly highly recommend!!!!
