Hi,
I haven't tried or needed yet but, you can make it happen easily.
Make the physical connections via generic MIDI > USB device with iPad Camera Connection Kit (iPad USB > KPA MIDI In) or iConnect MIDI 2+ (I am using this device flawlessly, over a year on stage).
You need to generate MIDI program change messages on iPad and send them to KPA. For example you can do it with OnSong app. After matching Program Change messages with your desired rigs' and song's MIDI settings on OnSong, selecting songs will automatically recalls rigs or even the parts of a song.
