Pure Cabinet vs DI profile + Cabinet

  • Hi all,

I've been using the KPA for 3 years, mainly for recording and playing through my studio monitors.

Recently, I've started to play in severals bands (jazz, rock...) and would like to invest in the best solution for amplifying the KPA in live performances with an amp in the room feeling.
At the beginning, I was considering buying a camplifier + cab (using DI profiles), but with the "Pure Cabinet" feature I can't make my mind up about which way I should go. Unfortunately, I won't be able to try PC myself until the end of the month.

Do you think both ways provide the same "amp in the room" feeling?

Sorry for my bad English skills

    Thanks!

No matter what you do, don't be another brick in the wall.

  • IMHO, Pure Cab is kind of cool but it does not replace a real guitar cab, if you want that "amp in the room" tone and feel you'd be better off with a real guitar cab. With merged profiles and a real guitar cab you can have the best of both worlds, with Pure Cab and a FRFR monitor it is a bit of a compromise.
