Is the Kemper's sound quality affected by electricity (voltage, grounding, etc)?

  • I've noticed that with tube amps and even pedals, voltage and whether there is proper grounding or not, makes a huge difference on the way they sound. Is the Kemper affected by variances in electricity, or it is pretty much very consistent regardless of those factors?

  • Yes, it's consistent. When it sounds in any way different than the day before than it's in 99% not the Kemper. The last 1% could be hardware or software failure. I had it 1 time that there was a sudden sound drop where suddenly all the bass was missing during playing. It came back after reboot.

But normally if you hear something slightly different it is more obvious that your listening environment has changed, your strings are older or, that your ears are just tired or fresher than the last time.

  • The Kemper is much like a tube amp. Luckily only sound-wise. The Kemper is much more reliable and should sound the same every time. It's a computer: it's either on or off, no fiddling around with voltage allowed.
