Like i said before by this conversation im also getting the feeling this is not a priority or even something to be consider to change in the future, again i understand that and i also agree that there might be more other urgent maters to take care in development.

we consider every suggestion that is voiced in this forum. :)
that doesn't guarantee future development in the area in question, but we take user feedback very seriously.

Will have to disagree on this as many also do(and i also had/have many of the models that are reproduce in Kemper).

A few months back i took my Kemper to a friends house who as an Axe II to do a face of,the od section of that unit blow Kemper to pieces.
It was really the only thing i was really jealous about the axe because in terms o amp tone even my friend preferred the Kemper due to some amazing profiles on the unit. [size=12]

"blew it to pieces" hehe... very dramatic...

Before the Kemper Profiler existed, I had an AxeFx, made a lot of patches for it and was quite active in their forum.
What I find amusing is this: people constantly complained about the OD/Dist/Fuzz effects of the Axe - to the point of calling them unusable.

    but back to the Profiler:
What you have to keep in mind is: not every stomp will sound good with every profile - just like the way it is with tube amps & pedals.

The key is to balance the stomps gain and volume controls against the profiles gain. These three are highly interdependent - as it should be.

Once again I would like to point out that technically, profiling a stomp distortion or overdrive should be no problem for a group of experts who manage to suck the soul out of a tube amp and to represent it digitally.

plug a stompbox in a speakersim and profile that.
chances are, you'll get very good results already.
(unless there are multiple distorting gain stages in series as CK mentioned)

so what you're asking for is already there, but you'll need two profilers. :)

But I'm really disappointed with the Big Muff. It might be a case of you modelling the wrong version. For the better part of the last 20 years no EHX built Muff sounds anything like an old 70s one, the actual circuit was completely different. People keep searching Ebay for older ones or have modders like analogman rebuilding the circuit. Maybe you should copy one of the clones or even a vintage original.

the older Muffs are notorious for having very large tolerances in component values and even the transistors are all over the place.
on top of that, take any two guitar players and ask them about their favourite BM.
no two of them will likely agree. :)

choices had to be made, and it's impossible to please everyone.

I still believe modelling is the way to go in this scenario, and the models in kemper are really weak. The other modelling effects in the unit ranges from good to amazing, but the od pedals are the Achilles heel.

    can't agree here.

do you have the analog counterparts to compare the models to?

I have most of them - and no issues whatsoever with the models.

in fact the Model of the DS1 is so close to the original, that I can't stand it - just like the original. ;)

I made a quick comparison between the Green Scream and an old TS9. By ear the TS9 got more "harmonic distortion" and is smoother in the top end. All in all a would prefer the TS9 (BUT it generates more noise). What ever... :)

once again I'd like to point out this excellent article about TS pedals by JBroll :)

btw. CK altered the Green Scream a bit according to the wishes of our users and this new model is based on a Maxon OD808, which seemed to be the preferred TS in this discussion.

with modeled pedals it's always important to turn the knobs by ear, instead of matching o'clock positions.
the resistance value of pots and their taper have quite some tolerance, so there is for example no 'TS with tone at noon' sound.

Hi, im trying to re-intall firmware and getting the same error. My usb stick is completely empty of any folders after format. So do i need to create a folder and place the kaos.bin file into?

there are no folders on your USB stick after formating it with the Profiler?

The Refining process is actually independent of the type of your guitar. It is about adapting the distortion characteristics, as well as polishing the attack and dynamic response. The resulting profile will act and re- spond accurately no matter what guitar or pickup you use.

I guess it is more an issue how the reference amp is tweaked in regard of the guitar used.

    exactly.
obvously, you would set the dials on an amp differently for a Tele than for a Les Paul.
    maybe even mic it differently.

a profile made for a Tele will sound differently when used with a Les Paul - just as the tube amp would when used in that way.

reacting so dynamically to varying input signals (changes in volume or tone pot settings, pickups, strings, tonewoods etc.) is one of the greatest strengths of the Profiler.

this recovery procedure shouldn't be necessary.
Like Timo said, it's most likely a corrupted file, either corrupted during the download, or because the USB stick wasn't properly ejected before removing it from the computer.

I recommend reading the manual, it explains what external gear is needed to make a profile.

what you are attempting has been done successfully, btw.
people set up a signal chain, where the miked amp was fed into a so called matching eq and then back to the Profiler.

To me these tone matching attempts always sound weird/overly processed.
It is important to note that even for tonematching you have to use your ears and make musical decisions.

letting an automated process do all the work is always a sonic let down.

Thanks a lot for these really cool profiles sounding great! Unfortunately there's a little humm in both profiles here but I could work the noise down with a combination of gate and NR.
Love the first profile, especially with Fender N3 PUs.
    Fine work!

hum isn't an issue of profiles, it's the pickups picking up (haha) external noise, the profile is only amplifying the problem.
causes are insufficient shielding of the guitars's electronics and/or 'noisemakers' like fluorescent lights, or even lamps with a dimmer on the same power strip.

    Hi guys !
When i am using the "Bulb Clean" Patch (Rig-exchange) and put the Micro Pitch effect at the B-Slot i feel a kind of latency...
    Detune - 1.3; Crossover - 20.6 Hz; Mix 100%; Ducking 0.0; Volume 0.0.

you use the effect with a 100% wet mix. try reducing it mix to 50%. does the feeling improve?

It just feels not tight and i hear the Sound like 1 ms too late.

    1ms, really? :D
    sound travels ~34,2cm in 1ms.
just leaning back on your chair while playing guitar will give you this kind of additional 'latency'

    on a related note:

as mentioned in previous threads, the Profile does have a slightly higher latency in profiling mode, than it does in browse or perfom (=play) mode.
this pre-delay, so to speak, could give you the impression of room/space/air when you are hearing it simultaneously with your guitar's acoustic sound.
in a recording this would obviously not show up.

Air, like fizz, is such a unspecific term, there are no recordings to back this claim up.
btw. I did compare recordings of profile mode and browse mode a while ago and there is no difference other than what CK already mentioned.
