Hi Daan,
rename backup file with .tar extension, then open with archiving sw. eg. Winrar, 7zip.
Inside tar archive you will find file ".InstalledVersion.txt" open in text editor, and that contains build number of OS.
To get from buildnumber to OS version is more complicated as there is no public list of versions, but I have pretty good archive of all OS versions from the past, so if you will tell me buildnumber I may be able to give you OS version. As for backward compatibility I can not tell for sure, but I expect it to be. You can always try that yourself, just make backup of your current KPA before.

Happy new year everyone!

not quite true, otherwise why did we include it in the factory rigs every unit ships with?
Don, I am sorry if I was wrong. I remember someone from Kemper saying, that there is really nothing special about this profile, when there was talk about it. I tried hard to find that thread, but I failed. EDIT: I found this post: Morgan AC20 profile uploaded, maybe this was the thread. (Actually it was VESmedic who mentioned heavy EQ & compression.) Is my memory getting old or what? My fault.
But I have found your post with summary of important parameters which can be applied to other profiles to mimic the praised character of AC20.
Thank you! -
How can anybody need 47310 rigs when there is rmpacheco's Morgan AC20? The only rig I am coming back consistently all the time and it somewhat sounds great with any guitar... EDIT:
Guys from Kemper may say there is nothing special about it and it's only effect of midboost pre-EQ. But, we, the fellowship of AC20, we know where the truth is...Actually guys from Kemper like this profile! -
Simple and genius. Great idea!

Peto is my first name, it's short form of name Peter, here in Slovakia.
I change my avatar to reflect the guitar I am currently in love. -
Thank you Walker, I will check it out for sure!

Wow man, I was just so excited about the Apes, that I did not think of this aspect. My empathy failed and i am sorry for that bro. Next time I will try to think more before I post, even if I am Monkey.

Did I just hear the screams of KemperApes gathering for Apetoberfest through the threads?
I am sorry to be late to the party, but it's better to be Ape than sorry. -
I finally got this weapon into my arsenal!
It's 2011, alder body, birdseye maple neck, ebony fretboard.
1st class fretwork was done on this piece, with 12" radius I was able to get to 1.2mm/1mm on Low E / High e. Still I am able to bend strings 2 whole steps.
It's a monster!

Björn Thank you for these amazing JP2C profiles!
Right now I am still stuck with CH2 ST 40-3.
Definitely I am going to check lower gain profiles! -
Brilliant playing!
One of my all time favorite solos. Marty is a beast. His solos on RIP album are so yummy!
I wish I was able to play this gem. I should practice more.... -
Hi David, open the connection of middle pin and short the middle pin of bass pot with the other outside pin of that pot.
Look at the attached image. Red = disconnect. Blue = connect. -

FWIW, this is note from @DamianGreda: KPA doesn't profile time dependent functions. You have Compression and Power Sag parameter to compensate for this.

I still have a very quacky , harsh sound with more distortion on every profile.
I have DT880 250Ohm. I don't use them with KPA, because it sounds horrible to my ears - the same you have described.
With KPA I prefer the sound of Koss Porta Pro.
But when I listen to already mixed music, eg Ayreon, I prefer DT880 - man, I can hear each part of the spectrum and what is each instrument playing.
I don't understand why is it so. I would like to know where the problem is. Maybe somebody could shed a bit of light into this for us. Thanks!
