Not a popular opinion, but a cab is a cab in my opinion. I'm pretty sure no one would be able to tell the difference between a Mesa and a cheap cab based purely on the lay-out of the inside of the cabinet. Open up a cab and they all look very similar in my opinion.
Nice one! Probably also picking up a Mayones soon.
Nice to see it matches my taste.
The Dual Rec is definitely my favourite off the list and the Blackstar definitely my least.
No experience with the Annihilator, but if it's anything like the Mr. Hector, it's logical that it sits in second place for me.
TA is nice, but I wouldn't use it for the genre of the mix.
No experience with the Bogner, but I guess it wasn't dialed in to my taste. Did sound good in its own right.
Should you do this again some time, you might want to throw in some odd curveball somewhere. Like something really cheap or something.
They all sit very nicely in the mix, even 3 that I thought sounded bad on the other 2 tests. Still my same order though. 1, 4, 2, 5, 3.
The performance will always be more important than the sound for an initial good sound. A great sound is awesome, but what's it worth when the performance is lacking?
It's still the same amps with the same settings, right?
I'm staying with my previous vote. 1, 4, 2, 5, 3. Might swap 2 and 5, but 1 and 4 are still my favourites and 3 still sounds bad imo.
1, 4, 2, 5, 3 best to worst in my opinion. No idea which is the Uberschall, never played one. I'd hope it's one, but it could be anything. 5 sounds decent, but has too much low end for my taste. 3 was the only one that sounded bad in my opinion.
here's my rig... I use a small Marshall EL34 combo/12"speaker as a monitor and that works fine for me.
Is that a Moog Expression pedal? If so, how does it work with the Kemper? I used those before I got the Kemper but never used them with Kemper. I liked their feel a lot and I'm looking into an expression pedal now.
Keith Richards on Sympathy for the Devil. Hurts my ears. It's a great song though.
I thought I did, I'll check. Its was a .dll issue/error..something to do with something else being open
Yeah, it's because without admin access, it doesn't let you write to your Windows folder. If admin access doesn't solve it, try a restart and without doing anything else immediately do the install with admin access.
I couldn't get some of these to work..e.g. the harmoniser, installation failed
If that was the Melda Productions stuff, be sure to run their installer as administrator if you're on Windows.
As far as free profiles with some gain go, I use the RC JTM45 VI one quite a bit. Not sure if Roel Corstjens is on the forum, but he made a stellar profile.
I haven't tested it side to side, but I used to play through my PC at home before I got the Kemper daily. I never used the IR's in Amplitube 3 (or any amp VST for that matter) and always used 3rd party IR's.
I haven't looked into using the IR's I used with VST's for the Kemper because it doesn't need it in my opinion. So yeah, I'd say the Kemper IR's are better.
Dunno If you guys mentioned these:
3- Different tuning for the Tuner (for alt tunings).
What do you mean by this?
Aha!
Really nice stuff.
That's a nice space! I'd add a stool or something in there for when you want to sit with an amp. That block inlay 335 and the 56 (?) Reissue Les Paul look amazing. The rest does as well, but damn those would be nice to have on a wall here as well.
Good stuff!
Check out the Aguilar Tone Hammer as well.
While I make it work without pedals, I'd say something like a Strymon Timeline or an Eventide Timefactor can't be replaced. Also, an EHX Hog. Something like a WMD Geiger Counter (bit crusher) would be hard to replace as well.
I have the 4U version and I can close it fine with a power chord attached.
