Yes, please.
There are several Friedman amps that need to be seriously profiled. This one, the Cantrell, and the Stevens. There are some good Friedman profiles out there now but we need more!

So for those of you that exclusively use your KPA through headphones or computer monitors, if you had a 4x12 sat next to you how inclined would you be to use it? Or does it sound so great through the computer that you would only use a 4x12 if you were performing live?
I live in an apartment so a 4x12 would essentially be used as a piece of furniture here. Might look nice with a table runner and a few candles.
The KPA sounds pretty fantastic in the headphones. I use it exclusively that way. With my Beyer DT770's I can track all day and night with minimal fatigue.
If I could do it all over again, I'd have gone for the powered version. I don't gig either, and I really have no plans to. And in the off chance I decide to play a random show, I can use my DXR-10 and be just fine.
That said, I am someone that likes having my options open. Had I gone powered I could use a real cabinet should the need or desire arise.
Boot time is a bit on the long side (I can't compare to Axe, never owned one) but honestly in the months I've been using the KPA I have never had it go down mid-show and require a reboot. Besides, if power for the whole venue flickers you won't be the only one waiting.
My workaround on the db meter thing - I run my KPA into a DAW and set up a db meter there. That said, I will tell you perceived volume is more important than what the meter says, so my advice would be to tweak tweak tweak at rehearsal and get it right in a band setting. Anything less and you are gambling. I set my clean and overdriven patches to different settings because perceived volume on clean tones is louder than naturally compressed overdrive tones, but it's still not perfect. So I tweak at rehearsal.
These are just my opinions. They are essentially worthless.
Hey there! FYI - I love these profiles. I used one of your PRS Archon profiles (#6 as a matter of fact) on this little ditty. Cover version of Them Bones by AIC.
AxeFX plugin? Good for them, and the Fractal users. No more waiting lists, ridiculous wait times, and constant hardware upgrades that render prior units "worthless."
Well this has taken a turn for the awesome! Hell yeah @sambrox !!!
Here's the next one! Dam That River!
For this one I used a Bogner XTC profile by @sinmix for all the rhythm guitars.
Rich, should we be on the lookout for these hitting the market? What are the odds of this person reselling these profiles? $200 worth of profiles sounds like a lot so wondering if this person intended on opening up his own store.
That stinks. Sorry to hear it. Guess nobody is safe these days.
Nice! Any chance I could get in on the action? Would love to play a solo or two!
Hey now! Well done!
I'm recording in Drop C (half step down from the record) but if you can record that solo (and the little lead part during the verses) in that key and send me some stems I'd be glad to incorporate them! Shoot me a PM.
my very meagre range as a vocalist,
Ha! Have you heard me sing? Be very glad you can answer "no" to that question.
@mightypudge and @sambrox - very cool collaboration. Hope you two do some more work together.
Well, now we have to...whether he likes it or not.
Hey all.
It definitely appears this latest ban is rubbing some people the wrong way or exposing some nerves. Let's try to recognize that and not allow the discussion to devolve into a name calling match or a pointless fight about who has better profiles. Quality of profiles is a matter of opinion. I've also seen GK's nationality come up a couple of times and the connotation there is not at all productive to the conversation.
All profilers, private and commercial alike, are valuable to the community and certainly make the Kemper experience that much better for the rest of us. I am sad to see GK get banned and I sure hope it's not permanent.
That said, the Kemper folks run a tight ship here and we all agreed to the rules.
Thanks!
Kontact is cool. I was hoping to start using it for ambient stuff and whatnot. But setting it up for multi outs with drums is a real pain. Thankfully GGD just released a multi-out template for Cubase so they did the heavy lifting there.
Greets Kemperites!
I have decided to embark upon the purely selfish and self indulgent task of recording cover versions of the entire Alice in Chains album, Dirt. This is easily one of my favorite albums of all time and I am super excited to put together my own tribute to this absolute classic.
Now for some Kemper content. I give you the rough instrumental demo of the first song off Dirt, "Them Bones" featuring profiles by @ChopTones, James Stephenson, and @breu. Drums are newly released GetGood Drums by Matt Helpern and Adam "Nolly" Getgood of Periphery.
P.S. I may do multiple versions of each song using different combinations of amps and profiles. We'll see how much time I have.
What kind of demos are you looking for? Just guitars? With drums and bass? I have a standard tuned 6 string, detuned six, and detuned seven so I can cover a lot of ground. Hit me up sir!
I've used it for ambient clean tones and solos where I had a lot of empty space to fill. Sounds pretty nice actually.
It's definitely a CPU hog though.
