Anyone know of free or paid profiles of the TC-50?
-
and the Q12 anybody?
I just sold my 2 DXR10's. I thought they sounded pretty good - certainly good bang for buck - however even at volume I never found they resonded that well to dynamics, very hard to get controlled feedback.
So I am waiting on a delivery of 2 x Q12p so will report back once I get my hands on them.
In the meantime I'm back to my trusty THD 2 x 12....which is not FRFR but IS awesome!

Thanks John, yes I've got the whole HAWP collection - excellent.
Based on your reminder I've got the phase 27 direct profiles running nicely with the Celestion Creamback hi gain IR, very nice indeed.
-
Cool, yep I found those but they do not look like DI profiles. They are studio profiles as far as I can tell?
-
Hi all, the Friedman BE DI profile featured in this new video on YouTube:

oh but I do love my Aussie Pale Ales.
-
Yes, but... you can do what Ash said he wants (and is more than welcome and can stay on the cheap) to do...
... 'cause you're in miserable ol' Melbourne, like me, Jase!
No mission cab for you to try, I'm afraid; not necessary for recording anyway. You can have a go at my Opal monitors 'though. Made at the Rode factory up in Sydney, and friggin' awesome. No Aussie beer here I'm afraid. It's Lowenbrau all the way here. Sweet, clean German brew. I keep a dozen and a half in the fridge for guests.. who never arrive...
Cheers brah. Oh, and I've heard nothing but good things about the Mission, so I'm not surprised by Ash's enthusiastic endorsement.
Opal monitors and cold Lowenbrau....hmmm there is no downside! -
Sweet. A fair distance from Melbourne tho!!
-
ha ha, would love to hear it man.
Coopers eh - you must be in S.A. !!
-
Hey man, sounds awesome.
I don't have a Friedman man, that was the OP.
At the moment I have 2 x DXR10's which are light and powerful but tbh I find them too harsh and unnatural at real volume. Also I just don't get the feel and guitar feedback, even at gain, that I am used to.
Secondary option I have going is a Rocktron Velocity 300 powering my THD 2x12 - which sounds great, but it's only the one cab sound.
So the Gemini 2, on paper, looks like the perfect combination. True FRFR but with the feel and push of a cab.
Did you try out a Gemini 1 also? Are you in Australia BTW?
-
Hi Ash,
Still got the Gemini 2 and still loving it? I'm searching for the right blend of FRFR and guitar cab feel....is this it? Cheers Jason.
-
Agree, I have loaded these.
-
Lounge-room Heaven™ in Melbourne, eh Jason?
Ha ha, exactly!
-
-
Why wouldn't you just run the 2 x FRFR actives off the KPA's main output? XLR to the desk, TS to your FRFR's.
-
Fair enough.
Try this pack from Michael: http://www.mbrittprofiles.com/home/d-wood.html
It screams at low volume too.
-
I'm talking about the same thing in 2 thread here so moving over to
as it's specifically about the Heavy Pack which is the one I purchased.
Shoutout to @lonestargtr for the refund based on the new pricing!
Make sure you try the mbritt profiles at full gig volume before you write them off as being muffled. I have the heavy pack and I play through a couple of dxr10's. The mbritt profiles absolutely come to life and a beautifully balanced when playing with a live band at live volume.
-
I think that has to do with the e609 mic that I used this time versus the MD421 or the mic's I've used in the past.
I do play lead and my amp settings are usually a little brighter than I like them to be or I have the presence a little higher than I like it, but I cut through the mix like a razor blade.I'm glad you guys like them. I'm gonna work on getting that Friedman BE100 in my possession for a couple of days and get it profiled.
Now we're talking. Looking forward to the BE100 profiles!!

Can someone explain to me why it is that when selecting one of Till's cab presets, you get the option of hitting Merge Cabinet - which actually changes the tone further. Whereas other cab presets I select, Merge Cabinet is not available to select?
