Just to return to the original topic. This post has been about connecting the Win/MacOS Rig manager ("old one") to the KPA via the ethernet connection instead of the USB.

Sounds good

It happened to me as well when playing at home. I don't know what it is about. For the rehearsals and gigs I have been using my MIDI controller. This method seems to me reliable.

From the manual
Output Filters
Low Cut and High Cut filters are available. These will affect all outputs.

Yesterday I did a complete test. I can confirm the KPA behaves correctly. When selecting a disabled slot with a MIDI controller (direct method with PC) slot 1 is loaded. It works the same way with the RM connected. At the rehearsal I used the RM a lot and probably selected the disabled slot with it and not with the MIDI controller. I was surprised with the fact I have a sound and it is not the default crunch but something I had played before.
-
Thanks for checking. I had the RM connected. I'll try without. I have been using the absolute method with PC.

I have been using a separate performance for each song to have the full flexibility. Each song usually includes 3 sounds saved in slots. Let's say dirty=slot1, clean=slot2 and solo=slot3. But some of the songs don't have the clean sound so I keep slot2 disabled. During a rehearsal I mistakenly selected this disabled slot with my MIDI controller and I was surprised what was coming out of my rack KPA. It was an old rig I was playing with some time ago. So I checked all my disabled slots and all played usually the factory crunch. I can select the disabled slots even with the cross buttons on the KPA even they seem to be empty (no name). Can you guys check the same? I always assumed disabling slots should exactly prevents this to happen, I am running the latest software version 8.6.

If you have free slots in the performance you can create separate rig with the base gain and another with morph gain.

I would use a midi controller like this one:
https://www.thomann.de/cz/harl…_midi_foot_controller.htm
You need to program the switches to switch on/off the stomps (A..D) and effects (X, MOD, DLY, REV) which shouldn't be complicated.
-
You can get decent result also with cheaper alternatives:

Discussed many times on this forum.

I have been learning how to use the user scales for the Harmonic Pitch. I went over several discussions on the forum and I thought I understood the concept. So I took the manual and wanted to check myself against the Default User scales in KPA. From the manual:
One user scale should be Blues Minor and the other Blues Major but no information about the intervals (3rd, 4th ...) so I created my table to find out:
First row is the scale, second the relevant "Step #s", third the KPA scale value and the last the note the Pitch effect should add. I was surprised every combination has "wrong" notes (orange color).
Is my understanding of the concept correct and Kemper has a mistake in the default scales or I am missing something?
-
Does anyone know if you can you run both sets of mains out or the xlrs and the 1/4inch mains at the same time??
Yes, you can.
-
I guess "kemper transpose" is better I like Wheresthedug's idea.

Thank you, highly appreciated !

I am in favor of this as well. It would be nice to have kind of master rigs which are linked to the real performance slots. Any change in the master rigs will be automatically propagated to the linked slots.
I have been using a separate performance for each song to have the full flexibility. But e.g. my "rhythm sound 1" is located in many performance slots and when I want to change it I need to do it on all the slots.
Thanks.

You can use a MIDI controller able to send custom CC commands.
From the manual:
#34 Delay Infinity in all delay effects (any value toggles between on and off)
#35 Freeze in all delay and reverb effects (any value toggles between on and off)

I have already created a Feature Request for that. You may support it with a "vote" if you like.
RM for Windows/MacOS using network (wifi/ethernet) to connect to the profiler.
-
Enabling network connectivity for the profiler brings a big value but it seems only iOS users can benefit. It would be great to have a possibility to connect to the profiler via the network from the "standard" Rig Manager for Windows/MacOS in addition to the USB. I believe it shouldn't require a lot of development.
Thanks.
