Now, say you're dialing a sound on the KPA, and you want to get closer to that Joe Bonamassa song for instance.. no way to play this song in your headset at the same time you're playing to perfect it right?

Most audio interfaces come with mixer/matrix these days, so that you can route inputs directly to outputs. Unless you have such an audio interface, I really encourage you to get one. Makes life so much easier, and avoids latency from software buffers.
Tascam Mp3 Guitar Trainer into aux Input. Speed and Pitch can be adjusted. This device is already 6 Years Old or so and is Not the Most up to Date device but Works Fine for me.
I do wish it had a USB for audio interface, but , if I don't feel like plugging my focusrite interface in, I take either my iPad or my laptop headset out, directly to the aux input. Just have to go in and adjust the volumes in the output page for a boost.
For just jam along, youtube backing tracks are great. If you want software tool suggestions, "amazing slow downer" for iPad or pc, as well as "jammitt" are pretty cool. Songster more of a learning tool, but will throw that out there for you 
I am sure there are many more. I have a few more on my laptop that haven't been used yet and can't remember the names ( not in front of the laptop )
And yes, you can plug in your headset and jam along as well as connect to your monitors or amp and listen and play along

you can connect your mp3 player to the alt in and return in of the profiler and adjust the volume in the output menu to mix the balance between the mp3 and the profiler sound and listen to both in the same headphone that is connected to your profiler

Belkin Rockstar - I recommend owning several Belkin Rockstars. They have internal resistors and can act as a 5 channel stereo passive mixer
