Thamks for the replies. I feared that was the only way. How do the users here find the model accuracy (usability) of the line 6 JTV sounds. I'm really torn. I have a GR55 and use some of the guitar sounds from it, but only use the KPA for the amps and effects.
In 2003 when the first Variax came out the whole idea of guitar modeling was very appealing to me. Through the years I have owned several Variaxes, a 500, 700, 600, an Acoustic, and a JTV-69.
In the end I found that something was always missing sound and feel- wise, and in the end that 'something' became more and more important to me.
So I left the idea of guitar modeling completely behind for now.
Party responsible for my decision was that I more and more lost faith in the innovation potential of Line 6.
