FCB1010 uno chip driving me crazy...

  • So i bought the FCB1010 along with the uno chip, and i can change rigs atleast... Pedal A decides to switch on Delay, but not off. Pedal B decides to switch the tuner on and off.
    Stomp dont work...

Have checked the manuals etcetc, but really i dont understand anything. I thought that when you install the uno chip it would just be plug n play, and since the above things work, why shouldnt the other things work aswell?

I have 2 cables, correctly installed.
No midi interface, so i cant use an editor on my PC.
Have read the idiots guide, the uno4kemper guide, posts on this forum, etcetc... Soon i'll throw the damn thing out of the window..

Surely, there must be an easy way to fix this.

PS. When its blinking ".00" i can switch between rigs, not when it says ".01" after pressing Up.

Note: I have the uno firmware from http://www.ossandust.be/

  • You have got the UnO chip, not the UnO for Kemper, correct?
The normal UnO is VERY powerful, but definitely NOT plug&play.
In this case you will have to do some programming and you will want to use a midi Interface to use an editor.

So i bought the wrong uno chip then... It's just confusing...
But if i buy the UnO for Kemper (http://www.uno4kemper.com/uno4kemper_order.php), will it work as Plug n play?

Or if i decide to hold on to my normal uno chip, is there a dummy step by step guide anywhere? Feels wrong to let the pedal A to switch on delay -.-

  • The UnO for Kemper is indeed plug&play.
If you want to keep working with the normal UnO do yourself a favour and invest in a cheap midi interface as programming on the FCB is a PITA.

    Cheers!

I'll do myself a bigger favour and ordering the uno4kemper instead.

  • I recently purchased an FCB1010 and the Uno4Kemper chip coz I have "zero" experience with MIDI. When I booted up the 1010 after installing the chip, the board went ape-shit, lights jumping around from switch to switch, expression pedals not working, spontaneous re-boots/shutdowns, etc. I put the original chip back in and everything seemed normal. After a couple of e-mails to Xavier at Uno, he sent me another chip. When I installed the new chip, presto! The board worked like a charm and I am a happy lad. A big thanks to Xavier for all his help and support. The FCB1010 with the Uno4Kemper chip is definitely the way to go if you are "MIDI-challenged" like me and want a plug 'n play pedal system for your kemper.
