Soundside Mesa MKV demo's - Metal. Drop tuned via KPA

  • Im a big fan of the Mark amps, I still own a real Mark IV.

I knocked this up the other day using one of Armins MkV profiles. I cant remember the original name, I only have 3 profiles from the pack on my system and they are renamed. Anyhow, Armin has the original I sent him up on his website but i sent him a few other mixes because my original one was done without much thought. The kick drum is too loud but other than that Armin preferred it over the other versions. Too bad I didnt save that session. Anyhow, I love to get feedback on the mixes as this is a new area for me but one i'm keen to improve in. Here are two versions should you want to have a listen and there's also a dropbox link to both files if anyone wants a higher quality version.

To my ears mix 2 is a little louder, the guitars are higher in the mix, the kick less so and there is practically no processing on the guitars.

    Thanks - Feedback welcome.

  • So this is a normal tuned guitar and tuned down via the KPA? - works great!

  • I am actually amazed by that aswell, I have only tried the kemper transpose function for some bass-like sounding guitars cause I never had much faith in these effects

alexanderdoyle you've just solved me a big problem/hassle that i've had for years. Now I can play pretty much every song without having to detune my guitar all the way!

oh and mad props for the kemper team for making a transpose effect as good as this, i never even knew the technology for this existed :D

  • Yes, standard tuned guitar transposed down 4 semitones. I use this feature all the time. For another song I have in the works i'm using a Les Paul with the E string dropped to be and then dropped 4 semitones via the kemper. My fake 8 string sounds huge :) Its a song i'm taking more seriously but I will share it when its done.

Testament to the Kemper team and quality of profiles :)
