Kemper with a guitar amplifier

  • Hello,

I'm an studio engineer. A good friend of mine, a guitarist, owns a Kemper Profiler.
It is an amazing device, but when we connect the thing with a guitar amplifier we have a problem.
The sound always sound flatter and more 'chemical' (less big sound) with the Kemper than the guitar directly plugged in the guitar amplifier.

I think the problem is that stuff like the profiling isn't bypassed on the Kemper and this causes the 'weird' sound we experiencing. (simulate the guitar sound in the Kemper and then go into a real amplifier can't be right!) We use the Direct Out on the Kemper and connect it to the amplifier, but it still gives the weird sound, so we must be missing something important. Some kind of setting in the Kemper.

Does anyone know how to properly connect the Guitar with a Kemper to a guitar amplifier with the correct settings on the Kemper?

    Greetings,
    Rick

    "Use its loop return instead."

I'm sorry, but you do mean the return on the back of the Kemper or something else?

You need to bypass the guitar amp's input section and tone stack.

And set flag 'Monitor Cab Off' on page 3 of the Output section.

I'm going to try this! Thanks for the info!
