SRV "Little Wing"

I'm trying to do a cover of SRV's "Little Wing". I really want to nail the tone. I have an American strat with Fender 69s tuned down to Eb standard. On the Kemper I would use the Fender DLX preset. How can I make the preset think it's a deluxe turned up to the point that it starts to break up though? Any advice would be helpful.

You could try adjusting the gain, and see if that gives you what you want.

BUT - there are dozens of available Deluxe rigs, from squeaky clean to cranked.

Fire up Rig Manager, search for "delux", and listen to them on the Rig Exchange. You may find something with the right feel for your guitar, or something that just needs a tiny tweak.

Don't overlook Bassman rig's or super reverbs for that cool fender sound.

Play with the gain and or add a distortion stomp.

Buy the fingers of SRV

I'd recommend the Morgan AC 20 profile. It's quite flexible, and I use it for a lot of SRV stuff (tube screamer in front). The Texas Specials aren't my preferable SRV pickup. I would rather go for a lower powered PU and put on thicker strings.
