Fantastic!!!
You've captured the character of the amp so nicely. The balance of tone is excellent .This is indeed a very special amp.Great profiles .
Thank you for uploading it.
Thx a lot Sean for these wonderful rigs. Your profiling skill is getting better and better
That amp is really something , covers lots of territory with the gain knob and the guitar volume pot ( The who, Hendrix, blues, Jazz ...) The quality of the crunch is really impressive, the cleans are top notch too, you will definitely hear each string whatever gain setting you have. The rig is very sensitive to the attack , warm and sparkle.
I don't know why but the sustain is very very long on this rig, I wish I could get a 'sustain' parameter on the KPA to get it on other rigs.
I did swap the cab to my special JTM30 2x10 cab to get a little bit less treble and the result is amazing on my strat. I've uploaded the rig on the rig exchange ' trainwreck clone strat' for strat users.
Cool! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the feedback.
Sean
These are fantastic! Please keep doing what you're doing. Easily up there with TAF, Top Jimi and the rest. Your profiles actually sounds better than the Trainwreck i paid for.
Many thanks!
Thanks for posting the rigs!
And, welcome to Hippie muzaak
Next on the list will be the Express and Rocket. I've done both in the past and they didn't turn out too well. Hoping to have better results as I improve my profiling process.
Thanks
Sean
Your profiles sound great, thanks a lot
I'll be downloading this one. ,!
I've been away but last nite fired up the ole Kemper and played thru your Coppertop.
Thanks for all the work you've done.
How's the Liverpool compare to the Express? It's one of my favorite lead amps and i'll be away from my Profiler in the next week or so, so i can't test-drive...
Liverpool is EL84 based as opposed to the EL34 Express, so a little difference there in tones. At higher gain settings there's not a huge difference, Liverpool is a bit chimier (if that's a word) at lower gain settings. Both are solid state rectified.
Sean
Holy crap Sean, you've really outdone yourself this time.
I really hope you're going to try these new techniques on your Coppertop and JTM 50, not that they aren't already in the top 10 but
These new profiles of the T.W.L.P. are so hot....
Yep that's the plan. I will admit the Vox has been the hardest one to get a good profile of. I'll keep trying!
Sean
Wow, this is seriously cool profile. You've made this amp yourself?
here is a jam for you - thanks!
@mcdee. I can't get to the soundcloud file, is it a public file that everyone can access?
Yes I built this Liverpool clone, put it into a cool flamed maple cabinet also.
I purchased an Express clone from a friend and was so impressed by it that I decided to build a Liverpool and a Rocket clone. Had a blast putting them together. There's nothing quite like plugging in a variac and slowly ramping up the power looking and smelling for anything wrong
They all turned out really well. I don't think I can bring myself to parting with them even though the KPA has put them into retirement!
Sean
That's awesome. Shame that you are in the US, we would talk I like KPA a lot, but amp is an amp. I am one of these guys who didn't sell his other gear after buying KPA.
Sound clip was private for some reason, it's not now.
hi folks ! here is another short clip of the hi gain rig in action on Les paul : https://soundcloud.com/sound-music-sonic-lab/wreckpaul
I finally fount a killer rig rig to match a friend's vintage LesPaul , this was a difficult task but I'm done !!! the alchemy is glorious on this trainwreck clone, thx again Sean
Great work!
Thanks a lot.
Thank you so much for these. I've played the whole night with TWL-lo. Easily one of the best profiles out there. Wonderful tone, brilliant responsiveness. May I ask what mic was used?
