After having installed 2.8.1.10 I was experiencing a number of small and not-so-small issues, the most relevant of which were a sudden and (apparently) random loss of sound and the Master volume knob muting the signal already around 2.8.
Still early to say whether the first issue is gone, but a system reset effectively fixed the volume knob one.
Did you inform support about this as 2.8.1 is private beta?
I have a similar problem with experimental 2.8 firmware where the volume range will shift from 0 to another number as lowest. Initializing globals fixes it until I change output presets.
So far I have not had any major problems

I did not really thing about it, because this is a behaviour I've experimented some other times in the past. If a system reset makes it work I assume it's not a flaw in the OS... would you think otherwise?

Sounds like a bug in the KAOS software if you need to perform a system reset to "fix the problem"... there's a similar thread posted in the Kemper issues and troubleshooting section of the private forum.

Well, it doesn't have to be specific to the KAOS version tho. If some "libraries" change but some "registers" don't get updated since day one unless you reset the system, there seems to be something "systemic" about the issue...
