I am having problems to find a proper SPDIF cable in my local shops. Some people have recommended me to use a RCA instead. What would you recommend?
Which cable you use for SPDIF?

Decent quality RCA is all you need usually male/male. Go to go.

its depend of the distance :
- low distance use RCA
- large distance use 75 Ohm cable -

I'ts recomended to always use 75 Ohm cable but the audio RCA on short distance works very well.
If you have to connect two devices at distance < 1m(i don't know how many foots is in 1 meter:) you can try to use ordinary RCA audio cable. The results will depend of you audio Interface.This is a digital signal so it is like 1 or 0 .
The digital 75 Ohm cables are cheap now so if you don't want to risk use 75 Ohm.

1m = 3.28ft.
I'm running an 8ft. RCA cable from Kemper > M-Audio FastTrack Ultra > Pro Tools with no problems. YMMV
