I have about 3 weeks before I need to use this live.
I already have the kaos.bin on the drive
its still exporting rigs... I guess its safe to say they will all be on the flash drive after its finished...do I need to copy them to my computer
-
Yes copy and store them in a folder on your computer. When you plug flash drive to your computer, it will ask to view files. Click ok, then open the rigs folder. Thats where all of the rigs are. Copy all of them and paste them to a new folder. Or you can just take the back up file and store it on your computer.
-
You can keep in on flash untill you can do backup with rig manager. Its late here now..
-
just create a folder on the desktop and copy/ paste?
Thank u Damian...go to bed!!!
I opened rig manager and created a new folder " my first back up"
Im assuming I copy n paste the exported rigs there
-
Yes-copy and paste:)its just a files.
Edit: dont use rig manager to backup your usb- copy the content of your usb on your desktop for example.
Rig manager is working with your kpa with usb cable. You dont need the usb storage for buckup then.
-
now its safe to update the firmware?
Does it add rigs or just the way the OS works?
-
Yes - you can do an update. Your rigs should stay on kpa.it could add some factory content.
-
so you should export all rigs before every update?
i noticed the folder called ' backups" on the flash is empty
all the rigs went into " shared"
is that correct?
-
Its always a nice habbit to make some backup before system update.
-
My fault - plug usb intobkpa - push soft 3 - then push soft 1 backup restore. Then push soft key buckup. Just didn have a kpa in front of me. You have exported only the rigs. Not the presets and so on . Sorry.
-
ok re inserted flash
creating backupwhen it finishes I plug it back into the KPA and open rig manager?
I see an icon called KPA with a 729.. I assume thats the contents of the flash. Do i make a folder in rig manager? whats the "local" folder ..its empty
-
No-just copy andpaste buckup folder somewhere.leave the rig manager for tommorow:)
-
You dont need rig manager right now.leave it. You have your backup on the usb and you can restore it from usb.
-
copy the rigs folder also?
-
Yes you can copy this folder . Everything what you need is in backup folder.
-
ok now do the update correct?
-
Yep
-
