So I installed Firmware 3.0.1.10908 Public Beta and I'm getting hum on high gain patches (noise gate on 3.0). Went back to Firmware 3.0.0.10856 and hum is gone. Same settings and everything just different firmware.
Did something change in the settings/config for this symptom to happen in the new beta firmware?
Anyone else have this problem?
Firmware 3.0.0.10856 = No hum :) .Firmware 3.0.1.10908 Public Beta = HUM! :(

Funny you should mention this....
I used to get hum but went on a mission around the house. I found a dimmer switch in another room, some low voltage lighting (with transformers) in the kitchen and a low energy fluorescent bulb in the hall were all adding to the noise where I sit in my little studio. elsewhere in the house. Although none of these were in my studio, they must have been throwing noise onto the mains cables in here. I got rid of them and my hum went.
So fast forward to now - we've had an extension built which involved changing the fuseboard, wiring elsewhere etc. I didn't play electric for a couple of months purely because we had crap piled everywhere and time wasn't good. I came back to a firmware upgrade which I applied. I also now have a lot more hum than I used to but I figured it was something the electrician did!
Now I'm wondering??

Ha! Line frequency in system menu got changed to 60hz, changed it to 50hz & bang, problem fixed!

Wow really?
I'll check mine when I get home

Hope it works for you too! -
Unfortunately mine was already on 50Hz auto
It's odd - if I face my PC monitor I get the hum. If I turn at 90 degree I do not.
Now, you might all say that this is normal / common / to be expected and you'd all be right.
Except that it's the same monitor and until recently I got no hum. We've had new firmware and we've had an extension / some new wiring elsewhere in the house. But everything else in my studio is the same as it ever was and yet now my noise level is higher......

Maybe your hearing has improved?!?!?

Maybe your hearing has improved?!?!?
Could be that or it could be that the electrician got rid of a kink in one of the cables which was stopping all that lovely hum from coming through
Don't get me wrong, it's not horrific - it's just that hum really does get on my bits and bobs and I was used to near silence with a similar noise gate setting.
-
Are your compressors turned way up at all??
-
dont forget you have ground lift switches in back of kemper peace

You mean while holding a guitar, or by yourself?

Any change with 3.0.2 ?

Any change with 3.0.2 ?
I haven't loaded it yet, Ingolf - I should get time to play tonight.
It's more likely me having done something stupid with the rats nest of cables that we guitarists inevitably attract
-
No change with 3.0.2 - it's not *too* bad and probably something in the house which I'll discover at some point. It's airbourne because turning the volume knob on the guitar gets rid of it. The noise gate also sorts it out - I just need to learn to play faster so as I don't hear it in the gaps between notes

LOL!
