PROFILING VIA S/PDIF

Swear I read it somewhere...!? Does anyone know how if profiling via S/PDIF is possible?!

I'm thinking I could route the SPDIF to my interface and then out from there TRS - XLR to the Kemper Return Input to profile.... Would this work?!
