LR and FX questions

  • Hello everybody,
I'm a happy owner for a week now of the KPA head,
thank you all for your comments and tips, they really help a new user like me.
There are some things I can't understand and I didn't find answers in the forum:

    1) The number of effects affects the response of the Kemper in some way? (I mean especially latency)
if yes, how can I turn off the effect that I don't need in the rig? It seems that once activated the light stays always on and there isn't a setting "no effect".

    2) I love playing stereo and my patches are stereo but I'll have to play mono, I checked quickly but it seems that if I connect only one side (L or R) they don't sum like other units.
Can I take only one signal from the KPA with summed LR ? Or I must do it on the mixer? I would avoid possible phase cancellations summing by myself.

    3) Someone knows a way to use the looper with the UnOforkemper chip and the fcb1010 (without changing the chip :)

Also I would love a computer editor, it would be faster.
I have thousands of questions but it is enough for the moment.
Thank you all again for the nice community you created.
    Daniele

  • Welcome.
    1. there's no increase of latency if you use a lot of FX. If you want to de- populate an FX slot turn the browse know all the way to the left.
    2. Press the output knob and switch Main outputs to Master mono.
    3. Can't help you here but there is a dedicated thread for this.

  • Ciao Daniele,

if you quickly press an effect button the light (on the button) has to switch off, and deactivates the effect. For the rest, feel free to follow the other forumites' advices.

Can't help on the pedalboard, sorry :)

    Ciao Gianfranco,
thanks for your suggestion, I would thank you also becuse it's many years that I use your "body guitaring" exercises before and after playing, I used to have copies of your articles and, then, the book and I often shared some warm up tips to my students and fellow musicians.
    Grazie!

  • Cool, thanks for your appreciation X)

It's nice how at times old pupils (who have now become professionals, sometimes quite rewarded) and readers pop up here and there. It makes you feel like you have really have been building something in the years :)

OTOH, your avatar speaks volumes... ;)

Actually I read your post from Dubai, I play on cruise ships now.... and fight to get the best out of my KPA.
I would be in my room like many years ago, reading your articles and practicing. You really helped many people.
    Thanks again, Gianfranco
