Not another cab decision...

Hi guys.

I am playing an 8-string on drop E with my KPA over a palmer power amp and an old 4x12 peavey cab.
Not really satisfied with the sound of the cab though.

I consider buying a used camper plus (1x12) FRFR for a pretty cheap price OR save up and get a 2x12 mesa cab (I guess I will not need any other cab for the sound I want to achieve).

However I am not sure what would fit my needs better. The mesa is 3x the price of the FRFR but I don't know if the FRFR can deliver a great sound in rehearsals when confronted with an 8-string
and the other guitarist playing over a 4x12.
What do you guys think? Go for the FRFR or save up some bucks and buy a mesa?
(I will need the cab for rehearsals only)

If it is just for rehearsal, why buy another cabinet? Especially if you can't afford to buy one - try some "zero dollar" solutions first.

Try changing the physical position of the Peavey, or adjusting the Monitor EQ.

If you can try them out with your setup.
Also you could try a combination of a 15 and a 12. As you are playing in Bassteritory maybe try some Bass rigs or FRFR with a 15 woofer.
